World Cup Final 2nd August 2014

You forget, the idiots on here think it is 'cool' to slag off Harris. On his day he is capable of beating anyone, and I hope tonight is that day.

I like Harris but don't delude myself he will do anything tonight but hope he does. So he scores well in our league but he is not riding in our league tonight is he.

He can beat the best but his form against the best isn't great.

I hope we win it but we most likely will finish 4th with Tai top scoring and the other three getting the odd 2nd or 3rd but filling up the last places.

I wish I could be more confident, but alas, our team is way down on strength compared too the others. Riding a place like Bydgoszcz you have to have, so much speed in every race. The gates are not that important, and even when in the front, good riders will always find the speed and room to get by. If your bikes aren't speed machines then you can forget it. All the top riders of the world have top tuners to get them near the front.

Only Woffy is in that category. Harris always struggles on speed track let alone King and Stead.

We done exceptional well last week to qualify for the finals, but lets not get carried away with the victory. To-night is a different ball -game against the best in the world. Just to compete on this stage is a step in the right direction, but don't lets get carried away here.

We need more of the British riders to up their ambitions and stop riding against 2nd division opposition just to earn an easier life..

Hi all,

Just been out with my son and had a slice of "humble" pie in case (as I anticipate) that GB don't finish stone cold last. I hope I am proved wrong, but I just can't see it. Anyway, hope springs eternal. :t: Alan.

Think the inclusion of Korneliussen will cost the Danes, really surprised they didn't go with MJJ.

Expecting Australia and Danes to have a "ding-dong" battle for 2nd with Poland just a bit too good, and team GB lacking the depth to seriously challenge.

Hopefully the ref will have a better one tonight, and that there are no major crashes to affect proceedings, especially with no reserves allowed.

15 minutes to go and the crowd looks terrible!

Bit of an embarrassment for the sport to see large parts of the stadium so empty for this blue riband event. Just shows that speedway perhaps ISN'T such a big thing in Poland after all, its really Mr Gollop that is the attraction, NOT the sport!
