Sheffield Vs Somerset Pl On Sky 28/07

Recommended Posts

Any chance we can move these boring, arguementative posts to a thread so us fans who want to chat about the speedway can do so?! Give it a rest will ya!

Just stick stevebrum on ignore, that'll solve much of the first issue.

Delighted to hear that Andre Compton has been released from hospital with no lasting injuries that a bit of rest wont cure, could've been a load lot worse.

That is very good news then.

Must admit I feared the worst last night.

Am glad Andre does not appear to be as badly injured as first thought.

The meeting was another example of why sky should show more PL meetings rather than some of the dross they have been. A good meeting with plenty of action from some of the young guns on each side.

Brady will have to get sky to update the photo they used for each heat he was in as he looked about 12 years old.

What a tough old lad AC is :)

Great news to hear both he and Olly are OK.

One of the most awful crashes I have seen and I have seen a few that would turn your hair grey in my time.

Feared the worst when I saw that but speedway riders are a tough breed.

Hope he recovers quickly and is back in the saddle soon as our sport needs lads like this.

Looks like Screeny may well have to don kevlars after all and don't Sheffield have Eric Boocock as a back up :)

Joking aside good luck to Sheffield tonight as they deserve a bit of luck. Hope it's a good meeting and everyone goes home in the same condition they arrived :)

Joe Screen might well make a short-term comeback in view of Tigers' current crisis.

What about Covatti? Sheffield have experience of Argentinian riders (Albin was hugely popular) and he might be just the lad to come in and do a great job, judging by Saturday's showcase.

Brilliant news about Andre Compton.

But what a dull, boring racetrack it is at Owlerton. Limited racing lines, riders having to scrub the speed off.......I'm surprised anyone would pay good money for that dross.

Take a trip 60 miles down the M1

Wonderful to get away from the stresses of the EL desperately trying to find a way to survive and to see riders for whom riding for their teams mattered rather than it being just a way to make some extra cash or putting in a few 'skids' before heading abroad for the real money, to use their best bikes and put in some real effort.

Some like names, I like speedway and that was an excellent example of speedway as it should be with only the exceptional circumstance of Simon Stead being blocked from riding by the SWC preventing both teams turning-up in full.

No compromises, no contrived formula seeding or protecting riders out of their depth, just team speedway as it should be and something that those fools who think only the top riders are worth turning up for are denying themselves from seeing. It's their loss and if they think people respect them or are in awe of them for that silly stance they're deluded.

As for the fool trying to insult the PL by wittering on about empty terraces closed due to the death of 96 people just up the road, sometimes words just cannot convey enough contempt.

Relieved to hear both riders aren't as badly hurt as was feared.
