van wolfswinkel
It's a bit like the joke about the Irishman in the restaurant He bought a meal and sneaked out without eating it. Just as pointless too Why did he sneak off, was the food bad or something...did he pay for it beforehand? We know crowds are down and the teams are weakened but a Geoffrey Boycott aint gonna do no good to nobody? Still my fav sport to watch over football, rugby, orse/doggie racing, cricket, ice hockey, and recently we've been sat on the chairs on the grassy knolls at Blunsdon Abbey in great weather watching some superb close meetings, the crowds haven't been too bad either. Cant complain at the good VFM at the moment. Hopefully we will move into the new stadium next autumn(possibly in the PL)but plenty to look forward to. MattK
Instead of a boycott why not a big protest at the AGM?? You've got more chance of being invited to Bilderberg than a supporter being invited to the AGM. Edited July 30, 2014 by MattK

SteveLyric2
Don't they usually have the AGM overseas. Probably to stop anything like that. Much better idea than a boycott though. :approve: The AGM has been held in the Uk for the past several seasons, BUT that could change this year?!! You've got more chance of being invited to Bilderberg than a supporter being invited to the AGM. Who said anything about being invited?? Protests are usually staged as a 'surprise' - maybe just to hand in a petition of fan wishes/views/constructive proposals.?! The Speedway Star could co-ordinate the petition's proposals maybe? Anyone fancy a few days in Tenerife in November??! Edited July 31, 2014 by Skidder1
Catabracadabra
It hasn't been held in Tenerife for many years now, it's normally in Bournemouth. So yes a trip to there around November time could be on the cards, the Element of surprise always works, so not organised on a media forum or media platform. Word of mouth and a group of people that would go round through the season at the different tracks without the promoters knowing, collecting data and peoples views and collate it together and organise the protest outside the AGM. In fact all would be needed is one person from each track and it could be done in a matter of weeks. Anyone interested it would have to be via message first, not on public view on here. Remember the element of surprise. Please message me with just a yes. If there is enough interest then I will kick start it off. I will provide the email address from which the communication will start. This is for the fans. Not promoters.
SCB
Bournemouth? I thought it had been held in Coventry/Rugby for a few years as one of the attendees wasn't trusted to stray too far home by a loved one?!
Cue Ball
Isn't Rugby the home of the BSPA? As for a boycott, not sure that I have heard anything quite so stupid before. As somebody else has pointed out, it would probably just result in some poor bugger, who tries to provide entertainment in a competitive market place (football, cricket, Ice hockey, rugby, basketball, games consoles, tv etc etc), going bankrupt. Who is the winner in that situation??

What you obliquely refer to was perhaps the greatest post in the history of this forum and I so wished I'd saved it or printed it off
