spt82
Pretty poor stuff from Berwick and this Edinburgh side is far from unbeatable at home as a patched up Panthers showed. The cup final will be close but the Panthers will win due to our superior mentality so enjoy this semi-final victory but realize what's going to happen in the final isn't going to be a pretty sight. It will be a one-sided demolition job and there's nothing you can do about it. Shame your team got put out the Knockout cup in the early rounds. 😉 Genuine question for Edinburgh fans. Do you honestly enjoy thrashing team after team, week after week? Must be so boring watching most opposing riders struggling to get round.I'm sure in a perfect world it would be great to have last heat deciders every week, but in speedway having a strong team will generally mean winning home matches by big margins. As has been said though the score line doesn't always necessarily reflect the quality of the meeting. Tonight wasn't the greatest though but that was the poorest team that's visited this season by a long way.
nagy1
Another thoroughly depressing meeting at the "San Siro" of Scottish speedway! Total dross! The "incredible" patter is cringeworthy too! Berwick didn't look particularly interested and the monarchs can only beat what is put in front of them! No entertainment at all, those fans that slaughtered Berwick's track for no passing must of had a severe case of déjà vu tonight! With the exception of people making mistakes!
Weeyin
went along as a neutral and have to say it was a very boring meeting, only two half decent races one when Kevin Doolan was giving his all and Sam dived under him and Kevin fell off, and the other was when Steen Jensen beat cookie from the gate and Craig reeled him in, otherwise it was pretty much 5-1 from the gate
Mr Blobby
Of course the racing was boring tonight the bandits riders were 2 bike lengths behind going into the first corner in every race apart from one when the wild riding jensen made a gate but cook lined him and dived under him exiting the 4th bend. There is generally more passing at edinburgh than other tracks in in league but we will just say it's a trick track tonight and to hard to ride because your team was p!sh. Shadders
As a neutral I was bored as hell. Most races over after the first bend. Can't work out if it was the home team being too good, or the Bandits being absolute guff. As for massive home wins, I'd take them all day after the season we've had. Some people at Rye used to moan at heavy home wins every week during the glory days of the mid 2000's. I bet they'd take a few of em now. I thought Masters looked for Doolan in heat 4 and was disappointed to hear some home fans cheering when Doolan came off. CaptainAudi
Difference between the two meetings was that the FTG on Wednesday was a poor track, and the FTG tonight was that the bandits as a team were poor. If they had been better, it would have been a good meeting.
Gazc
If only every team came with the attitude that Peterborough had, where it took a last to first in heat 15 from Craig Cook to seal all 3 points (that was with Ryan Fisher scoring 0 from 2 as well) Maybe it isn't so much to do with the track, but the fact our team are very good this year, especially at home? Whenever we have a poor side everyone seems to get around it well then, as numerous home defeats over the years have proved!! Yeah i think we have all got the jist off that one as we have only been told several hundred time's as to how good you are anyway out off curiosty any cookie rollers tonight or didn't he need to as there was nobody present to examine his rocket fuel . Think that is a bit harsh as Berwick have proved that they are a good team if they are given an actual speedway track to race on rather than a kid on one .
tyretrax
Been there and done that in the PL at Lynn, wears thin rather quickly. Not in Smugville though.

The way the Berwick track gets slaughtered everytime Edinburgh comes to Shielfield is getting extremely tedious, it's the same patter everytime, so because of the level of abuse the track gets at Berwick, Edinburgh fans are treated to sensational speedway every time a bike goes on track at Armadale? I've been to Armadale lots of times as a neutral fan and seen brilliant meetings and rubbish meetings. It happens at every track in the country.

Of course the racing was boring tonight the bandits riders were 2 bike lengths behind going into the first corner in every race Despite the general feeling of the Bandits on here tonight I do have a lot of sympathy with this point of view. Many PL riders have ridden round Armadale enough to know how to ride it. I've seen EL riders in the Scottish Open performing well without the same experience of the track. Yes, Armadale is a tough track, no doubt, but most riders should know how to ride it. Gating well gives a chance of winning. But if you're not doing that as an away rider your team stands no chance. Wonder if some riders go there with the wrong attitude before a wheel is turned? Edited July 26, 2014 by george.m
me2
I wondered how long it would be before the track got it. The fact is that Doolan, and Harrison have years of Armadale experience. Wethers spent almost his entire career there and Liam Carr has a bit of experience and did well with three points. Jensen has the least experience and top scores. Go figure, but whatever you come up with, blaming the track is a cop out. I don't know what went wrong for Berwick tonight, but it sure as feck wasn't the track. DavyH
Naw, just you lot are so far up your own Derrières you think everyone else is obsessed about you. And after a 67 -23 win why not? It's great being smug Genuine question for Edinburgh fans. Do you honestly enjoy thrashing team after team, week after week? Must be so boring watching most opposing riders struggling to get round. As opposed to knowing the winner after the second bend, lap one at berwick? I've only managed a few meetings at Armadale this year but there's been decent races every time, the Worky one rings a bell, the score that night did not reflect how close the racing was

DavyH
OK, been a bit Smug with my replies, but that is a shocker from Berwick - with Harrison and Wethers they should have nearly 20 points, they know the track better than any Monarch apart from Derek. Missing Kus who scores next to nowt is no excuse, Claus struggled all year at the Dale. Thankfully most peeps realise this is an exceptional Monarchs team and appreciate that. Plenty good racing at Armadale despite the heavy home scores - teams need to have a go - ask Peterborough for advice!!!

Loads of Dale experience in that line up so report card must do better, what annoys me is that Edinburgh ride Berwick better than Berwick rides Armadale
DavyH
Being a regular to Berwick you'll be well placed to make an informed opinion of how the racing is there? There was a time a few years ago I was down about 10 times in the year, when Hull won the league - some good meetings - normally v teams with a similar track. I think you need to look at how easy it is to pass at a track, was it wednesday that no-one could pass Fox? Kus?? Heat 12 That says poor racing track - tonight's result seems to be Bandits being very poor/Monarchs being good rather than the track. I stopped going to Worky when the racing line decreased to a 6 inch strip. In fairness, on a small track like Edin you are going to see closer racing, on a large track it will be strung out. We all have our preferences, Bgydgyscoh (sp) would do for me!! Edited July 26, 2014 by DavyH
