stevebrum
Pete Adams said that he would only help Woffy out if Woffy helped Wolves out. I said from Day 1 Woffy wasn't interested that's why it took Woffy so long to sign the Wolves deal. Woffy hasn't scored well for Wolves at all and its because Tai wasn't interested in riding for Wolves in the first place it was only down to the Pete Adams ultimatum. So you could say in other words Woffy didn't put in 100%. Of course he was interested. He wanted what most riders want from the EL .... less meetings. He didn't have a gun held to his head, he made a rationale choice as all riders do. He clearly took on too much this season that is about the only thing that is true in all you suggest. Tommy Sweetman
If Woffy does ride in Britain next year, hope this dosent explode into another Olsen situation. The anger and bitterness it caused with him wanting the move to Coventry seemed to drag on for ever. Regardless what the managment says about him only being allowed to ride for Wolves, holds no water with me. If he is unhappy at Monmore(and theres no suggestion that he is)then he will ride where he wants to ride. No promotion who ever they are, and what ever they offer, wants to keep an unhappy rider. It just affects the morale in the rest team, and as such, results will suffer from the consequences. Bagpuss
You are right, as a self employed person he will work where he wants to at the end of the day but I can't see him over here next year with what has been said about job sharing number ones / squads. Woz01
If Tai moves to another club they will be getting one hell of a bargain on that average unless of course there is some substance in what was said about grading riders. This is completely inaccurate but I assume was just an error? There has been no survey so we form opinions - mine is that a few top EL riders, plus some who don't ride here, want less meetings for their own reasons as they ride in several countries and don't need the additional money. The majority of EL riders are happy with the number of meetings - the reduction last year was criticised by some riders for not giving them enough meetings. Small point but I don't think the EL should be held to ransom by the few - those who want to rider here then fine but it should be on terms that best suit the sport here.

How is it completely inaccurate? The top riders have all stated what they want from the EL and more and more have stopped coming because we offer too many for the majority. There doesnt need to be a survey from the riders - there own words and interviews tell us all we need to know. Of course some top riders are happy with more meetings and that is why some are still here. Woffy has already hinted at least 6 top riders don't want to ride here next season with the extended league programme. That is not inaccurate or a formed opinion, Woffy would the person who knows what most other riders want from the EL. In my formed opinion i would rather we shake up the current EL programme and try and give the top riders an attractive programme they would wish to take part in (the costs passed on to the punters naturally). Id rather pay more for a stronger quality than less for a weaker product. Just my opinion of course.

stevebrum
Nothing that was said suggested that at all. I have re-read the report again and i couldn't find it either! I am guessing one person wants to see something that isn't there.

There are 9 EL teams so that makes 63 riders - this means you'd need evidence that at least 32 of them want less meetings in the EL. Quoting one rider saying that they know of others who share an opinion is not that evidence. I understand some riders' motives but for me the priority for the BSPA shoudl be thsoe who want to ride here under our terms. clambo71
Fast Freddie wants more not less meetings if he makes a return to the UK. the cost of two bikes and a mechanic plus accommodation makes it not worthwhile riding over here. Tommy Sweetman
And yet according to CVS there are top riders that do want to ride here, quoting him saying Twenty four hours before opening night(this season) a top-line rider texed "Is there even the slightest chance i could come, because im not happy with where i am" and then adding he had no worries about next seasons No 1,and that he had been inudated with requests from riders wanting a place in the side. Wonder who that mystery rider could have been ?.

However as we are talking of TOP RIDERS not wanting to ride in the EL we have all the evidence we need. Scores of them from Pedersen to Hancock, from Hampel to Emil, from Jonsson to Woffy have made their feelings crystal clear as to why they want a reduced league programme. The interviews are there to read so is completely accurate. I have no argument regards the `bread and butter` league riders who want more and not less. But an EL NEEDS the top boys so we should be doing all we can to entice them back IMHO. No doubt you will disagree with the evidence that's been proven. Proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

CVS seemed to imply that this was a rider already based in Britain and not one who wants to return or try the EL Wolfie
BWitcher
They way I look at it Steve is that if Woffy really wanted to ride then why did Tai take so long to sign the contract. Fair enough if Woffy did because there is more money to be made abroad Of course they didn't but it was a case of you help me and I will help you if not we wont help each other. Freddie probably. BWitcher and Stevebrum. Keep trying, still nothing to indicate he wasn't trying. Indeed the report states that both Tai and the management couldn't put the finger on why he was struggling. Maybe he preferred missing the gate, and risking injury trying to pass people.
Pirates Of Poole
What's all this talk of Tai moving on? I know he has said he struggles with Monday meetings but has to be a must on his average.
Woz01
If Garrity isn't at Coventry next season I hope he doesn't join Wolves. Nothing against Wolves but Garrity needs more rides on bigger tracks and I think that would help his development.

Pirates Of Poole
Any clues where he could be off to or just simply giving the UK a miss?
Tommy Sweetman
Any clues where he could be off to or just simply giving the UK a miss? If,and its a big if. To me,only two clubs would come into the equation Kings Lynn and Poole. Just my opinion mind.
