Wolverhampton 2015

Recommended Posts

I knew it couldn't go on forever, us agreeing that is :D

Some will forgive what he did last year, some won't I guess. What he'd achieved prior to 2014 is not in dispute.

Did you forgive PK's well below year (and indeed his brothers) in the late 90's? I forget which year it was exactly, but pretty sure we finished bottom.

Tai was disappointing last season but 99.9% of fans would have had him in the team had he wanted it. As it turns out we are managing ok & Tai is not missing the early flights on Monday and Tuesdays. Well see how things turn out in October. Personally think he will miss being race sharp but hell enjoy his work life balance a lil more.

1999.

Both Karlssons were below par that year, but Peter had that year with Peterborough in 2000 which seemed to galvanise him. He'd lost a bit of focus prior to that.

That was the one.. it happens sometimes.

Never would I think of holding it against someone if they've given good service prior, which Tai most certainly had... and hopefully will do so again in the future.

Why would we want him back lets have riders who want to ride for us

Why? Because on that average if we could fit him in we would be crazy not too. That is of course assuming he wanted to come back for part a season.

OK, he wanted out of British Speedway this year. So did Freddie last season, so has PK in the past. Tai is 100% Wolves and isn't off chasing riding for better deals with other teams in the UK.

Of course we want 100% commited riders in the team but people have short memories when it comes to Tai. If he wanted part a season here he should be welcomed with open arms.

I've been looking for Mark Sawbridge book, A History Of Wolverhampton Speedway. After searching the net with secondhand dealers with no luck, i e-mail Wolves Speedway, not even a reply!! So at the v Coventry match i popped to the track shop. The most helpful gentelman, asked me to come back in 30 min, he had taken the trouble to find Mr Sawbridge for me. Met Mr Sawbridge & got my book today. Many thanks again to the track shop gent

Today is the 30th Aniversary of...

However, back to the Racers and the problems of their season. On 6 May, Wolverhampton arrived for a League Cup match, but with Reading leading 24-14, the visiting riders walked out and their supporters decided to sit on the track in protest about the conditions. The meeting was abandoned and was eventually ordered to be re-run, a decision that was not well received by the Reading promotion. When the match was finally re-staged, on 17 September, Reading ran out winners by 46 points to 32, with Bill Dore allowing the supporters to gain free entry. There was more controversy on 28 October, when Cradley Heath were due to visit Smallmead for a league match, only

Extract from Reading website (hope thats ok)

Will the few of us at Poole tonight have to do the same.

Happy Days - Enjoy - Lefty

Isaac Hunt.

Remember it well. My good lady acted as my co pilot after the restaged meeting on the M4, advising me as to which lane I was actually driving in. Unfortunately my luck ran out on the Penn road after a speedway darts match a couple of years later. Hic :D

Sad to hear about Tobby's crash. Get well soon!

Wonder what our options are tho - RR or guest??

Shame Wolves next 2 meetings are against King's Lynn as that rules out Rory guesting 😄

With his average being 6.50 that doesn't leave a huge amount of guest options esp away with the only ones really being King, Howarth, Zengi, Lawson, Fricke and Cook (although some of these wouldn't be option due to clashes esp on 25th)

Hopefully, he will have a quick recovery. Guests or r/r,Wolves will be stronger being able to utilise his assessed 6.5 average against his real average of just over 4.

Every one of those riders is likely to score more away than Musielak would achieve at the moment.

The same Musielak that was 2nd highest scorer at Poole last week you mean?

Once he gets some consistency he will be a good scorer - even better as a second string.
