Wolverhampton 2015

Has it been confirmed anywhere who gets priority if both Peterborough and Wolves are away with regards to Blackbird?

Blackbird said Wolves on Twitter but yet he's riding for Peterborough on Friday

Neilsen and Stead also both riding for their Prem clubs on Friday.

Not sure who gets preference when its LC.

Think all the Wolves supporters on here (except one)probably agree with you Wolfsbane.

Trouble is, they are both up one anothers ar$e,and cant see what we want them to see.

Another dark day for Wolves Speedway coming up with the loss of Lewis Blackbird from the line-up at Belle Vue. So sad that an Elite League fixture is probably lost before a wheel is turned due to unacceptable reliance on the availability of a double up fast track rider. This was shown at Brandon last Friday. how many more times will this occur during the season? it's no wonder we are likely to see 30 Wolves fans travel instead of 200.

It's a good job the M6 will be running smoothly!

It's a good few years since I've seen 50 Wolves fans at Belle Vue, let alone 200 and the M6 is more often a nightmare than runs smoothly but you have my sympathy over the loss of Blackbird.

Simon Stead will be riding for Belle Vue before heading across to Redcar for the evening meeting along with Josh Bates while Blackbird and Nielsen will not be able to get to the early meeting in time from Manchester.

The only concern I have is Lewis Blackbird is I think owned by Mildenhall in the National League. Firstly as Peterborough are in a League Cup meeting and not a League meeting, shouldn't Wolverhampton get priority and if Lewis rode at Belle Vue, he should be able to get to the evening meeting at Peterborough in time. Wolves have in the past ridden at Kirky Lane and then at Coventry in the evening with plenty of rest time in between.

Looking at the upcoming fixtures for Tobiasz, it looks like he will be spending a good deal of time with Wolves and isn't scheduled to ride on Bank Holiday Monday for Leszno and looks like they may be using him for the home meetings only in April and then the meeting on Saturday has a ? next to his post on Facebook so he could be here all weekend

03-04 Belle Vue - Wolverhampton

04-04 Finał ZK - Lublin (?)

07-04 Wolverhampton - Belle Vue

12-04 FOGO Unia Leszno - GKM Grudziądz

20-04 Wolverhampton - Lakeside

24-04 Lakeside - Wolverhampton

26-04 FOGO Unia Leszno - Unia Tarnów

27-04 Wolverhampton - Coventry

30-04 Swindon - Wolverhampton

The option of doubling up riders is looking more and more a thing of the past soon and unless they are reserves then there will probably be no doubling up riders in a few years time.

Riders have already been told they can't do more than two years and visa riders can't ride in both leagues. It's ok for the young riders to gain experience at number seven but the more experienced reserves need less protected rides to develop better.

As for priority it keeps changing and the best option would be for Elite League tracks to ride on Mondays and Wednesdays and the Premier league on other nights. Then riders won't miss meetings and have the opportunity to gain experience and a better wage.

What is the point of having fast track reserves if they are not going to be available to ride in the EL and gain the experience they need we may as well go back to the old 1 to 7 with averages.

If EL clubs HAVE to sign 2 draft riders they should be demanding first call on the riders. If that doesn't happen they should refuse to take part in the draft. It seems wrong to me that we're told the draft is about pitting our best young talent against top guys and then not letting them do that!
