arnieg
Constant reference to Lasse Bjerre being 'better than his average' etc. He will be racing against far better reserves this season, the no 6's are all strong riders, with even the no 7's being of a higher standard. In addition the second strings are of a higher standard this season. Of all the teams signings so far, he is arguably the weakest second string of all. However if you look at his PL average he looks like a bargain signing. If you take his overall performance into account I'd say he's still a good signing, but perhaps not quite the secret weapon some are hoping. Agreed.. he just strikes me as one of those who performs better at a lower level. Time will tell, he's still young, it's not an awful signing. Bjarne Pedersen however... Woz01
Is Bjarne Pedersen that bad a signing? As a number 1 yes but as back up to Lindgren I think he would do a job.
ShropWolf
I just hope the last 2 riders are announced soon if its Bjarne/Lasse lets give them a chance to prove themself when the season starts. Dont forget we have got stronger reserves this season and Lewis will have 7 rides in lots of meetings.
Wolfsbane
Bates instead of Starke, Pedersen instead of PK. The lunatics have well and truly taken over the Monmore asylum.

PK for Toby If he doesn't hit the ground running? I'd be more inclined to keep PK away from the no 5 jacket.
ShropWolf
What other choices have we got i was convinced initially PK would be back but who knows. We do need a number 5 who will back Freddie up. So frustrating CVS can we have some good news. Shock us all!!!
Tommy Sweetman
The indications that CVS gave in his interview with the Express & Star before Christmas about wanting a 7/8 point rider to back-up Freddie seems to suggest that he has already ruled out PK from his plans. But of course if Plan A fails,he may have to resort To Plan B,which I presume would include PK. Please, please no Bjarne Pedersen, now that would be backward step, and not one that the fans would want. Bagpuss
You can understand why people aren't keen, he's a pretty boring rider who is past his best and very often goes missing against Poole. Very uninspiring.
BWitcher
You can understand why people aren't keen, he's a pretty boring rider who is past his best and very often goes missing against Poole. Very uninspiring. Given a full season of riding at Monmore, given the change in the silencer rules this year, I would still back Peter Karlsson to average higher than Bjarne Pedersen without a doubt. Throw in the loyalty PK has shown to Wolves, his inspirational skills, the fact that Lindgren loves riding alongside him, the fact he can continue to help bring Thorssell along.... A signing such as this could easily end up like Steve Johnston whom took the place of Sam Ermolenko.. we know how that turned out.
T.N.T.
First of all let's not forget that until any signings are announced it is not official and it may not be Pedersen and Bjerre and could be Karlsson and Wells FACT; Wolves need a back up heat leader for Fredrik Lindgren FACT; Tai and Piotr would have been first in the queue but don't want it. FACT; Signing Peter Karlsson as a second would only see him be a heat leader shortly after and would also mean Tobiasz and Jacob starting as heat leaders FACT; Bjarne Pedersen averages around 8 points a match every season and even under the hard format used in 2014 he still averaged over seven as a #1 and hit double figures in more meetings than Tai, Piotr or PK. Bjarne is not one of my favourite riders but he is a constant scorer and signing him means we can bring back Lasse who actually averaged seven points a match for Wolves last season and see no reason why he can't add a point to his average even if the races will be against better reserves. What really are the other options ...... Martin Smolinski
jeffster
This is the same Bjarne Pedersen that announced in November of last year that he was quitting British Speedway, as he couldnt make it pay, wanted to spend more time with his children, etc ? What really are the other options ...... Martin Smolinski FACT Peter Karlsson is,was and always will be a better rider than Bjarne Pedersen at Monmore Green. The reasons for PK's ONE season of under performance last year are well documented.. and with the silencer change are resolved. So, with that issue now gone we're effectively where we were at start of last season.. with the exception too that PK is now fully fit and not returning from a serious injury. Start of last season if offered Peter Karlsson or Bjarne Pedersen I doubt any sane Wolves fan would choose Bjarne Pedersen. So what if PK goes back up to heat leader? He's still better than Bjarne Pedersen.

fish keeper
Bjarne only lost just over half a point from his starting average last season and that was from riding at number one so to back Freddie should be ok and Lasse did enough last season to get another chance this .
magnificentseven
In the 2014 season Pedersen's average was split as follows: Home 8.47 with bonus points/ 9.11 with bonus points Away 5.92 without bonus points / 6.31 with bonus points. This shows what a home biased rider he was, and he isn't going to get to ride at Eastbourne this year !! Those figures don't bode well for us and PK would be a far better option.
