stevebrum
http://fastfreddie.se/category/news/wolverhampton/ Wonderful news. Tai missing the UK in 2015 perhaps. 40/60 at present according to news from talk in. Basic summary from Talk-in at Chillington tonight: Oliver Berntzon will NOT be in Wolves team in 2015. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I am HUGELY disappointed about OB not signing. He was a crucial one IMHO. Any reasons given as to why?? INCOGNITO
Think 40/60 is being optimistic and more likely it's 20/80 but the concern ia once the season starts will the phone go and a team wants to talk to Tai. Tai will get a lot of flack if he doesn't ride in Britain which is why he rode in 2014 but rather than knock the lad you only have to look at what the others are doing in the GP's. Tai has watched a 44 year ols win the world title, seen a rider finish second and win his national title and Nicki bounce back to the rostrum. AJ finished as possibly the strongest rider in the Series and only two of the top 8 were riding here in Britain. It really got to him losing the world title and his main aim is to win that back. So before comments are made then you have to ask why many more are looking at also dropping British Speedway next season and therefore riding every other day in Sweden and Poland plus other events Will be interesting to see how many teams can build to 34 points if riders like Iversen and Kildemand don't ride and the return of Lindgren and maybe Jonsson and Holder will only paper over the cracks and help out a few teams that will always survive like Wolves and Poole
Wolfsbane
Got a sinking feeling, so hope I'm wrong. Now that Berntzon has decided it's a no go CVS & Adams will revert to type 'same old, same old' and the wish for new blood will remain just that (And the cheque book will remain firmly in the CVS skyrocket). The evidence is there, Sqora approached. Not that he would necessarily be a problem, but it does confirm a particular mindset at the top. Good news about Freddie though I really think it's time to move on from Woffinden. The longer the saga goes on, the more it looks like the tail is wagging the dog. Woz01
So Berntzon isn't joining Wolves, what a surprise.
INCOGNITO
Maybe it may be same old same old but PK as a second string with Freddie and Jacob !! There still may be a new face but they had hoped Bernzton would be the new kid on the block but that has changed and there is nothing you can do to stop it now. Maybe it may not be quite a new face but new to Wolverhampton
dabbsjoe
Pawlicki is now an asset I believe was mentioned last night also. Which is great news once he has finished with the under 21's
Hackett
Fast Freddie and Tai Woffinden (snip of an average) will make a pretty strong top 2 !! Thorsell had a good season and improving if they can get Lewis Blackbird in the draft - Start of a decent side.
T.N.T.
Tai would be great on that average but can't see him riding over here next season. He had to be persauded to sign as World Champion, so now as an ex World Champion he will do what is required to win that title back. Riding in Poland on a Sunday and Sweden on a Tuesday along with the GP's and possibly the SEC too will be enough to see him earn good money without numerous flights in and out of Britain. Maybe a cunning plan would be to sign Tai for the start of the season and then in May or June replace him with Piotr Pawlicki or vice a versa. 8.94 Frederik Lindgren 6.12 Peter Karlsson © 6.25 Jacob Thorssell 4.67 Lasse Bjerre 7.32 Pawlicki / 7.03 Woffinden 33.30 and if PK is struggling when the time for the switch comes then you have room to make changes. Hope we get Blackbird but I have a funny feeling we may be in for a surprise on Wednesday when the draft picks are done. Spoke to Pete Adams during the break last night about it and he said they are pretty confident they will get the rider they want !!! Could one of the drafts be available and not protected ? Wouldn't be surprised to see a team end up on sub 30. Just who are Leicester going to sign for a start? Lindgren coming back helps but with Kildemand, Woffy, Ward and Bridger not riding this year thats a lot of points that need replacing. With Puk and Magic making noises too some teams could be stuffed. Edited November 25, 2014 by SCB
Tommy Sweetman
Surprising to read that both Morris and Jacobs seem to be out of the picture for 2015. Perhaps CVS and Adams pinning their hopes they get Starke in Grade 2.

AJ finished as possibly the strongest rider in the Series and only two of the top 8 were riding here in Britain. It really got to him losing the world title and his main aim is to win that back. Those were the figures quoted by PA so its 40/60 at present. Tai won the World Championship racing IN the EL and having a busy season. Conveniently forgotten by some, including Woffy. So Berntzon isn't joining Wolves, what a surprise. Well it is considering the rider himself said he was approached last season, dates couldn't be sorted to join and he would race for Wolves in 2015, when it comes from the riders mouth then yes you could consider a surprise. Rumours circulating in Leicester is 1. Doyle 2. Wozniak 3.Stead 4.Cook 5. Unknown 6. FTR 7.FTR The relevance of this on a Wolves thread? BWitcher
People get too hung up on new faces, old faces. It makes not a jot of difference. Proctor and Klindt as examples were in the team in 09 that were champions.. They were also in a team that struggled. PK has been in great teams, in not so great teams. What MATTERS is signing riders on the right average. At the moment Wolves have signed two.,. Thorssell and Lindgren. 2 decent signings at first glance. However, Thorssell upped his from riding as a 2nd string mainly... Lindgren didn't ride last year in a format where heat leaders averages drop so is saddle with an old high average. It is now absolutely imperative that we sign riders who are going to increase their averages as it is a big ask for either of the above two to do so, especially Lindgren if the format remains in any way similar to last year. The two assets we have who can do that are quite clearly Woffinden and PK. PK has 6.1? from riding as a heat leader in a much tougher format in a season he was coming back from a pretty serious injury. Starting the season back at Monmore as a SECOND string and importantly fit and fresh he is a steal. Likewise Tai. His current average is the absolute worst case scenario. Only way it can go is up, potentially by as much as 2pts. Wolves should simply do as they did with Lindgren, make him an offer, put a time limit on it. I don't believe there is any way he would agree to ride if he wasn't committed. It would serve him no purpose for a repeat of last year.. hence if he agrees it's great news. If he doesn't we move on and look elsewhere.. quickly. Elsewhere you are looking for riders who were heat leaders last year and saw their averages drop.. you AVOID 2nd strings whose averages rose. It does look as if we could be very strongly positioned with regards to the Draft riders this time.. we saw last year what an effect that can have.

BWitcher
Why would I want to stop anything? Puzzled. You're always stopping things, My sources tell me in the last 10 years we would have signed Sayfutdinov, both Lagutas, Jason Doyle, Darcy Ward and the entire Polish U-21 squad. I can only conclude, you stopped them
