Wolverhampton 2015

Where has this link with Jason Garrity and Wolves come from ? I spoke with him at Coventry recently and he knows nothing about it, and is more then happy at Coventry.

He has been quoted quite openly about it. Maybe he has selective memory.

CVS and Pete Adams spoke those words about Tai first and Freddie has a good chance of staying in the Top 8 as he is joint 7th at the moment with AJ and Batchelor his closest threats just one and two pints behind but it will largely depend on which Jarek Hampel turns up on Saturday

No surprise the usual poster trying to attack. (not aimed at INCOGNITO)

Tai isn't committed to the EL.

I still stand by my comment that Tai wouldn't be interested in riding for anyone else. If he does i will be surprised.

Tai`s issue is clearly with the EL, not with his parent club. His performances in the EL have generally been lacking all season so we now know it was more of a protest against the amount of meetings he was forced to ride.

Hopefully no one will quote the mindless reply from Pinny, who has nothing of value to add at the best of times.

When? Where?

I doubt any riders would say, "no, never" if asked but I can't see Jason going anywhere else in the EL next season. He'd be mad signing for Wolves, we all know he can ride Monmore. If he moves away it needs to be to a bigger track.

There was an interview in Speedway Star after the British Final.

Read posts 156 & 158. He apparently HAS spoken to the management

post 156 -

  • Garrity has apparently told them he wants to ride for them but reservations over his attitude.

post 158 -

JASON GARRITY is also in mind for next season as he has indicated to CVS that he loves it at Wolves and loves riding the Monmore Green track. CVS said that a few years ago, he would not have touched Garrity with a barge pole but of late he has matured and they will be talking with him in the close season and Len Silver at Rye House but that does not mean he will be signing.

Well Fredrik Lindgren missed out or messed up his Top 8 finish in the Grand Prix and is pretty down hearted about it at the moment.

He may well get a nomination for a Wild Card but that is unlikely and to go into the qualifiers, he has to be niominated by his governing body SVEMO who he hasn't seen eye to eye with this year. However with Stefan Andersson stepping down, he could find the new manager is more forthcoming ?

As for Britain, it appears at the moment that is still not in his plans. He still has a property in the midlands but that is not available so he would have to find new lodgings and employ a mechanic over here and somewhere to keep his bikes. Maybe a full season would be ideal for that but with Thursday meetings every week in Sweden, how many would he miss here ?

WOLVES 2015 - Oliver Berntzon and Jacob Thorssell the only two you should be safe at naming at the moment but there are a host of 5-6 point riders in the wings, Garrity included and until the AGM takes place we wont know if the Swedish duo are second strings or heat leaders ?

Do we know next season is PK last ?

No we don't know which is why my post was ....

If he did return it would most likely mean he wont be doing as many in Sweden and maybe concentrate on England for his final year ?

The last thing I heard/read was about a 4-5 weeks ago, a newspaper article in my local newspaper where PK said that he then

hadn't decided then if he would do another season but if he would, he would re-sign with his Swedish team Smederna.

I also assume that if he continues for another season he will also rides for his Allsvenskan team Örnarna which are based in Mariestad

which is very close to where PK lives (Gullspång).

As you know Freddie won't be doing the SGP next year and neither will he do Allsvenskan, so that won't be a problem.

I haven't heard anything more specific, possibly he might try the Danish league?

I would much prefer PK to be an honoured rider at next season's Olympique. A one off appearance at the (probable) very end of his career would draw fans in and allow the club to pay tribute to one of its' very, very best servants. No pressure to 'improve your average', just a final chance to applaud a true hero.

And he can bring his brother back : he was magnificent as well.

No doubt PK has been a superb servant to Wolves and to Britain over the last 25 years. However, I wouldn't want memories of him soured by going on too long. Seeing him last season was painful at times when you look back on how he used to dominate heats at Monmore.

I know the argument would be that Ermolenko carried on until more or less the same age, but Sam was still a quality performer capable of holding an EL heat leader spot in a league that's much stronger than it is now. In any case, I don't see Peter being back given the remarks made by the management a few weeks ago.

  • 2 weeks later...

Wish either Ladbrokes or CVS would come out and put these crazy stock-car rumours to bed,Monmore is just not built for sport with four wheels.

It was rubbish the last time, and only attended by one man and his dog.

Was the reason Cradley were booted out, anything to do with a rise in rent.?

Excellent posts Wolfie.

I tried to post something similar earlier but my connection was playing up and it wouldn't post.

When I read about the comments at the talk-in from the management, I was frankly disgusted. I had hoped they were taken somewhat out of context but it doesn't appear to have been the case. Next to Sam PK is perhaps the most loyal rider we have ever had.

If PK says he is fit enough for next season and gets his machinery sorted out he should be a no brainer on his starting average.

I've said this many times before, when Wolves track teams without one of the old heads in (usually PK or Sqora) we flop. Things quickly unravel.

Without checking my notes or tape, my recollection of the management quote on PK was along the lines of "He would be the first to admit his return wasn't as successful as we would have hoped"; asked about his chances of a team place for 2015 the gist of the reply was "possible but unlikely and he would need to be in an appropriate gradings band if that was the way the sport went". I accept it's not exactly a hymn of praise for one of the club's greatest servants, but it didn't strike me at the time as especially derogatory.

Thanks Fourentee,

that's putting it very differently to how it was reported previously.
