Wolfsbane
Berntzon, Thorsell, Garrity, Fricke and Bjerre.....if they can all be squeezed in with a decent number one and seven that's a potential packed side. That's the sort of line up needed IMO to sweep away the same old, same old malaise that has dogged us for a while now. We'll all have opinions/variations on it, I'm pretty sure that Fricke will end up at Cov or Poole if Fraud waves the cheque book and I'm just not convinced with Garrity, either does he really want to come to Wolves or is he all he's cracked up to be. I've come to the (fairly obvious ) conclusion that if you don't have at least one decent fast tracker you've got to have one hell of a 1-5. It's no coincidence that the 4 in the play off semis had Kerr, Worrall, Newman & Garrity. I can't get Starke out of my mind, a Spoon so knows Monmore well and has done ok at his current level around Somerset. At 24 he may be too old already though So it's Berntzon, Thorsell & Bjerre Jr for starters. Edited October 8, 2014 by Wolfsbane
magnificentseven
Peter Karlsson .................. 30/70 - It is more like he put the A into SAGA rather than ABBA Is there really any need to pass such a comment on one of the greatest riders to wear a Wolves Race Jacket? Total lack of respect - why am I not surprised? Wolfie

Yes unfortunately that is true - I was there as well - very poor way to treat a rider who has been a great servant to the club for so many years. Wolfie When Adams finally goes we can return fire on PK's behalf. Shouldn't be too difficult to find the ammo. The man has put the A into ar$ehole enough times. stevebrum
Berntzon, Thorsell, Garrity, Fricke and Bjerre.....if they can all be squeezed in with a decent number one and seven that's a potential packed side. Have to say as far as the first 4 go that would be a dream start. We know Thorssell will be back and quite easily was Wolves rider of the year this year (thanks to the no shows of Mr excitement Piotr). Fricke will be on every other teams want lists but hopefully the little bit of gossip i hear regarding Max is he has Wolves as 1st choice. Fingers crossed. Garrity has been a huge success in the Draft but lets face it he was the standout rider from the off as far as PL averages go. He seems keen on coming to Wolves and Adams seems interested too. As far as Berntzon goes he has already nailed his signature to a Wolves contract, i just hope the management don't make life difficult for him to sign and he changes his mind. He is already in press saying he is coming to Wolves next year but the lack of confirmation from the management that no actual deal has been agreed leaves me a little concerned. As far as Lasse goes i have never really been that impressed and has hardly made much significant progress. In saying that on his short stay with us i have been pleasantly surprised with his effort and commitment. He clearly loves it at Wolves and wants to return so that might make him want to progress his career onto another level if he feels settled. For me i can see the line up being something like 1. Freddie Lindgren 2. Lasse Bjerre or Ricky Wells 3. Jacob Thorssell 4. Oliver Berntzon 5. Max Fricke 6. Jason Garrity 7. Draft Part of me believes Tai will be back but in all honesty if the rumoured 28 matches is the EL schedule for next year then if he is going to give it the same effort as this year (thru over tiredness and taking on too much) then id rather him not come back. No one loves Tai at Wolves than me, but i want full 100% commitment to Wolves from all the 1-7. I expect nothing less.

Wolfie Yes unfortunately that is true - I was there as well - very poor way to treat a rider who has been a great servant to the club for so many years. Wolfie Excellent posts Wolfie. I tried to post something similar earlier but my connection was playing up and it wouldn't post. When I read about the comments at the talk-in from the management, I was frankly disgusted. I had hoped they were taken somewhat out of context but it doesn't appear to have been the case. Next to Sam PK is perhaps the most loyal rider we have ever had. If PK says he is fit enough for next season and gets his machinery sorted out he should be a no brainer on his starting average. I've said this many times before, when Wolves track teams without one of the old heads in (usually PK or Sqora) we flop. Things quickly unravel. Freddie is a great Number 1, not so sure about being a great leader though.
stevebrum
Garrity won't be in the draft next year so if you want him he will be in top 5 We don't know anything yet. However hopefully the `successes` will get a structured way to progress in the EL.

Bagpuss
I can't see Lasse making it to the top of the sport now unfortunately, which was the hope when he first came over here in 2010, but he is still young and could still be a very good rider. I think he hasn't yet found a settled environment on the UK, sometimes moving to a particular track just make things click into place and perhaps Wolves would do that for him. EnglishRoundabout
Slightly off topic folks so apologies. Can you Wolves regulars tell me if the superb Harry J Allstars ' Liquidator' is still played as the signature tune? I can remember being at Monmore in about 1976 and it was played then. I don't seem to recall hearing it on my last visit in 2011.

Not sure if its ever really been " the signature" tune as such. Its more a hate theme for Wolves and Baggie fans,it got banned at Molineux by Sir Jack Haywood and Jez Moxey a few years ago because of the obsene lyrics aimed at the Boggie fans from the Wolfies. Still think its played at the Hawthorns though(but not sure,we havent been there for a number of seasons ) Hopefully be back next season,if we dont pass each other on the way
INCOGNITO
Where has this link with Jason Garrity and Wolves come from ? I spoke with him at Coventry recently and he knows nothing about it, and is more then happy at Coventry. CVS spoke openly about Jason talking to him on more than one occasion. He has admitted that other riders have spoken to him in the past also about joining Wolves and while some have come to the club he hasn't signed them all. No doubt words were passed between the two, but most likely in an informal manner and while CVS said he believes Jason has matured well in recent years and calmed down from the person he was, it remains to be seen if Wolves talk anymore to him as they already have a number of riders around or above that ability that they will look at first. Wolves have always tracked a British rider though and if as expected Tai isn't back next season, Jason Garrity would be high on the list of targets. Regarding Tai, it will be interesting to see how the next 10 days unfolds for him and where he sees his future. He has his final GP of the season on Saturday and then Wolves have their annual Olympique meeting on Tuesday night and he has his "Evening With Tai" on the Friday. With Iversen / Ward unable to ride in the play off finals on Monday and Wednesday, would he not be the obvious rider they would want as a guest in the final. He will no doubt be back in the GP's next season and if he isn't riding here, he could also ride in the SEC. He will again be at Wroclaw next season in Poland on Sundays and also Vetlanda in Sweden on Tuesdays where he could be based like Greg Hancock is and riding on the set nights only without the flights and hotels
Pinny
Think the "tai wont ride for anyone else other than wolves" comment by a certain wolves fan will come back to haunt him Lindgren, espiecially if a non gp rider in 2015, which if he doesnt make the top 8 shouldnt be, would be a much better number 1. CVS and Pete Adams spoke those words about Tai first and Freddie has a good chance of staying in the Top 8 as he is joint 7th at the moment with AJ and Batchelor his closest threats just one and two pints behind but it will largely depend on which Jarek Hampel turns up on Saturday
Pinny
Ive seen steve brum spouting those words for ages He clearly wasnt 100 percent committed to wolves this season - flying in gps and foreign leagues yet his average went below 8 in a p1$$ poor quality EL?! Anyone who thinks he was giving it everything for wolves must need their heads examined
Wolfsbane
Well, I've made my mind up and it probably won't be popular. Bargain average or not, if Woffinden rides elsewhere in GB, so be it. I won't be losing any sleep The club was, and always will be, bigger than any individual. It just depends whether the current custodians have the gonads I guess.
