Wolverhampton 2015

Recommended Posts

Ditto Woffinden, using the same logic.

Using that same logic Andersen will be a reserve !

To be fair Lindgren's average was dropping in 2011, 2012 and 2013 with the older format. It's just dropped more noticeably this season.

Why would another club pay money for Lindgren. Wolverhampton is the only track he can ride reasonably. He very rarely scores double figures on other tracks, it is not only this year in 2013 i'm pretty sure he only scored double figures once ( excluding double point rides ).

16+2 max at Birmingham

12+3 max at Coventry

12+1 at Eastbourne

12 at Poole

11 at Eastbourne

10+1 at Belle Vue

10 at Kings Lynn

9+2 at Belle Vue, Birmingham

10 inc a tactical win at Birmingham and 5 at Peterborough were the only away matches he failed to hit double figures away from Monmore Green ....... this was an improvement on 2012 when he failed to hit double figures in 4 away meetings.

There is little interest in assets these days in speedway as riders have proved they can move clubs each season if they wish as it goes to the committee and they won't stop a rider earning a living and approve a loan deal.

If you look at Fredrik Lindgren finishing with an average around 6.95 then the need would be for two riders like him or better that can be heat leaders home and away under most formats.

Will Hans Andersen fit in at Coventry next season when Garrity is likely to be in the main body of the team along with Bomber ?

If he is then Kylmakorpi (Freddie s best friend) would be available also around 7 a meeting average. The same could be said of Bjerre or Schlein at King's Lynn or Magic, Darcy and Holder at Poole or maybe riders that haven't taken part fully in 2015.

Linus Sundstrom or Kenni Larsen or Shamek Pawlicki or Peter Kildemand. Maybe Batchelor at Swindon due to the improvement of Nick Morris could be available.

Whoever it could be selling assets won't do anything and neither will buying unless it's a British prospect and then an asset may be used as part payment as Coventry did to get Garrity with Kennett going to Rye House.

Would high scoring Brummies rider Zach Wajktnecht be worth investing in for the future,or has he already been linked with another top flight club?.

Can't answer your question regarding being linked to another club but he looks a great prospect. Saw him at Brandon a couple of weeks ago and he was very impressive!

Coventry are nearly 2 points under the limit. I'd imagine if the BSPA force Garrity up into the 1-5 then he'll replace Robbo and Bees will carry on as we are now.

Garrity may be in their top five next season but this season he will be at reserve till the end

There are a few good youngsters coming up from the Grasstrack scene and hopefully they will be encouraged to ride in a series of races together

  • 2 weeks later...

Here we go again with the switch around in riding order as it looks like Jacob could be catching Ricky by the end of the season.

With everyone (bar Jacob) having a few poor scores of late, these are the current rolling averages of 20 matches for the team (not the official GSA) . The figure in brackets is their average for all league meetings this season.

6.51 Fredrik Lindgren (6.48)

6.42 Peter Karlsson (6.78)

5.68 Ricky Wells (5.96)

5.66 Jacob Thorssell (5.41)

4.79 Tobiasz Musielak (4.79)

29.06

HOME - AWAY

7.84 - 5.29 - (-2.55) - Fredrik Lindgren

7.39 - 4.79 - (-2.60) - Ricky Wells

6.96 - 6.62 - (-0.34) - Peter Karlsson

6.42 - 4.52 - (-1.90) - Jacob Thorssell

4.38 - 5.18 - (+0.80) - Tobiasz Musielak

32.99 - 26.40

Amazing but even the averages at home are way under the 34.00 limit.

Lewis Blackbird has retired from speedway with immediate effect

Have to feel sorry for him, seems every other meeting he was taking a knock.

Suppose all the injuries hes been getting this season has taken its toll.

Very convenient time to put out the news of a contract extension.

Meanwhile in the same article CVS says:-

Of course it was disappointing and, believe me, the management feel that as much as the supporters, he said.

I can never remember a night when my heat leaders didnt win a race but that was the case against Coventry.

A lot of focus has been on Freddie (Lindgren) and his run of low scores.

However, if you ask any of the Coventry heat-leaders Im certain they will tell you they have been through a similar tough run at some stage in the last 12 months.

We need to stick together and get behind Freddie and help him through this. Hes as frustrated as the rest of us.

The Elite League race format is very demanding and unforgiving, although as a spectator I like it. People say the Elite League is easy, but Im sure Freddie will tell you different!

In addition, Jacob (Thorssell) needs to race more regularly, hes been harshly treated in Poland and Sweden and I can confirm he is on the verge of joining a Premier League club.

Jacob will remain with Wolverhampton and double-up but we will have priority over his services."

So in other words... no changes are going to be made.

As poor as Wolves are its highly unlikely they will be finishing below Leicester.

Interesting to read in Mondays programme that Woffy has been approached by another club without asking permission. The answer naturally is no.

I'd say it's likely to be one of the 5 teams in contention for the play offs.

As expected Tai has no interest in riding for any other EL team.

He was trying to get it below 7 but could not quite manage it.

At least he didn't use dodgy engine failures to achieve it tho. :t:
