Witches V Rebels Pl 24-7-14 @ 7-30pm

All this critism of Nick Morris is rather harsh I think. The lad is 19, probably the youngest No 1 in the league. His away performances sometimes have been a bit shaky, but it is also a bit of horses for courses and the Foxhall strip clearly gives him a problem.Earlier on in the season somebody on here said that Nick "is no Jason Doyle", let me tell you at 19 Doyley was "no Nick Morris" either. He is also holding down a heat leader spot for Rosco over at Swindon so he can't be that bad. I think his own success over the last three seasons has sort of caught up with him a bit, maybe this is the year when he levels out a bit.

For me the Rebels will be there or there abouts at the end, and Ippo will be one to avoid obviously, but looking at our away record in general we are not doing too bad,and I think nobody really would like to come to our place over two legs.

I think he was 20 last month was he not?

And he has a lot of track time under his belt given that he started when he was young.

The point is that his away displays since April have not been at all good.

I'm sure Somerset will definitely be in at the death this year.

Just odd that can't hack it at Ippo.

Ok, not going to quibble over one month tbh, still the youngest No 1 in the league and an elite league leader to boot. His away displays have been a bit shaky as I pointed out, however I notice from the Rebels latest stats that he is averaging 6.95 with bp's away so far this year which is not poor by any stretch of the imagination. I'm guessing you are an Ippo fan and I see from your stats Worrell is only 0.3 of a point in front of Nick away. When we consider home form however Nick is 3 points better than Ritchie. I do take your point though that it is a bit odd that he seems to have an issue with Foxhall, in contrast I have seen him a few times at Rye where he has been quite brilliant at a track where away riders tend to struggle a bit.

On his first visit to Ipswich a few years ago, he was nearly unbeatable at Ipswich, so not why he can't race it now. Maybe he has just got to used to the flat out tracks like Somerset.

He can't ride Brough Park either. He tries to ride it flat out when throttle control is more applicable.

An Ippo fan?

Never been so insulted!

I am the total opposite of an Ippo fan.

I support the smuggest team in the land.

I went along expecting to see a close match and thought Somerset would probably Nick the points.

Instead there was hardly any opposition, especially from your No. 1.

Does Charles Wright have a better away average?

From last nights programme, and not including Ipswich, Charles Wright away average is an impressive 6.33 - much to Superstar1's annoyance.

I think he is now 20, but you cannot honestly say that his scores away from home have been of a number one, when in last years Somerset team he was a top scorer away from home, okay the criticism of him is harsh so maybe he should never have been a number one it's too early, and I wonder if the pressure of being at number one is getting to him, I am sure that riding at 5 would have been better option for him, but probably not for Somerset as if he is riding at 5 they will have to run R/R and no guest. As you say no doubt the Rebels will be there come the playoffs

Thanks, Witchy. :)

BSPA official result card:

Aspregen 3
Worrell 2
Hawkins 1+1
B Kurtz T0

Strangely, it depends which site you use. BSPA says Worrall beat Hawkins, and SCB site says the other way around, but aren't they from the same source? Not asking you, specifically, just hoping someone might know.
