Witches V Rebels Pl 24-7-14 @ 7-30pm

Yep Morris is pretty rubbish tonight.

Rubbish is an understatment. Absolutely diabolical from a No 1 and rider of Nicks class. Nick rode very well last friday, and that is the sort of form i would expect him to display on a regular basis.. Im very sure that Garry May will not be happy with that overall performance..

A bit harsh, these riders do have off nights, sometimes may be bike problems sometimes plain out of sorts.

Genuinely suprised at the amount of suprised people on here! Just look at the majority of the Rebels' previous visits to Foxhall and you'll see that it is a track we don't do too well at... To be honest, i expected the Witches to hit 60! Regarding Nick, yes 3 is a very poor score for a rider of his calibre but he is still only young and is not yet an out and out number 1.

Great to see all seven turn up tonight. After last week I never expected Cam and Adam to look so sharp, they were both quick out of the gate, and looked like what we thought they would be at the start of the season. Let's just hope that it's not a false dawn and they both gain in confidence. Nice to see plenty of extra fans tonight, it'll be interesting to see how many turn up next week, Witches V Berwick or Gino V Bomber and Tai on the telly?

Top notch all round performance. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Showings like this will soon see any calls for changes die away.

Interesting to see the after meeting spins of Ruml and Sissis.

Ruml looked smooth and stylish although difficult to gauge how quick he was out on his own. One for next year maybe??

A much more convincing performance tonight by the Witches and I don't want to take anything away from a good win but Somerset really don't like riding at Foxhall. It almost looked like they were a beaten team on the parade lap with the look on their faces.

I must admit I was a tad surprised by Chris Louis stating publicly that changes were a distinct possibility if things didn't improve in the next couple of meetings!

In my opinion the opposition tonight or lack of it has given the team a much needed boost and no doubt temporarily eased the pressure and criticism from disgruntled fans (including myself) to make changes.

One win against a team who hates riding here doesn't I'm afraid make everything rosy in the garden.

Let's however enjoy the win tonight and long may it continue. I as always live in hope that we've turned the corner.

I'd have stayed had I known Ruml was there. Think of how outclassed Gino looked in last years SWC and how he's doing this year, hopefully Ruml could do the same, then in a few of years time get his little Brother (Dillon) over, he was certainly the best of the Kids when I was there last year.

Good all round team performance tonight, lets hope this is the start of the run to the end of season because this is what we know they are capable of but have to show it on a more consistant basis.

The Aussie Hunter Anderson looked impressive after the meeting too, looked quick. Maybe should look at him for next year.

Well I for one am very pleased with the turnaround from last weeks showing and will happily praise the riders for all contributing towards the win!

Unfortunately we have had more than one false dawn this season and I personally have no intention of getting carried away that the worst is now behind us.

I will still need alot of convincing that the consistent underperformers are over their bad patches.

We have a very good team on paper and that needs to be proven to the fans before the complaining is likely to stop.

Over and out.

Sorry Jonny - it's taken me this long to get over the shock!!

I think I was one of the very few who were not calling for changes so I feel vindicated now.

However I did expect Somerset to win and win comfortably.

I obviously made the huge mistake of overestimating them.

Apart from a few odd rides they were pretty poor really.

Especially Nick Morris.

Charles Wright deserved more for his performance, especially his double pirouettes on the 3rd bend!!

Brady, Pontus, Ollie, Todd had the occasional moments but not enough to worry Ippo.

Starke was none too great.

Everyone in the Ippo team did a decent job and were generally sharper from the gate.

Risager was pretty entertaining in heat 3, doing a bit of grass tracking after coming off the bouncy castle on bend 4.

Too many falls and ef's for both sides really.

Great gesture by the management to let kids in for free during the summer hols without having to have an adult with them.

Also good work with the track in keeping the dust completely away.

None at all is a first for me on my travels but it generally seems to be that way at Ippo.

There seems to be a bit of dirt around too though not enough tractor time to get it away from the fence.

So a good win for Ippo, a poor performance from Somerset and not the best racing I have ever seen.

Bit short on atmosphere too.

All this critism of Nick Morris is rather harsh I think. The lad is 19, probably the youngest No 1 in the league. His away performances sometimes have been a bit shaky, but it is also a bit of horses for courses and the Foxhall strip clearly gives him a problem.Earlier on in the season somebody on here said that Nick "is no Jason Doyle", let me tell you at 19 Doyley was "no Nick Morris" either. He is also holding down a heat leader spot for Rosco over at Swindon so he can't be that bad. I think his own success over the last three seasons has sort of caught up with him a bit, maybe this is the year when he levels out a bit.

For me the Rebels will be there or there abouts at the end, and Ippo will be one to avoid obviously, but looking at our away record in general we are not doing too bad,and I think nobody really would like to come to our place over two legs.

*sigh

If only people were as quick to praise this week as they were to condemn last week, this thread would be on it's 8th page already.

perhaps a reflection that a number of those weren't there.

Hopefully they will be back and see more of last nights type of performance.

All 7 looked sharp quick and focussed and all credit to them for it.
