El Mid Season Predictions

Did you miss last nights results!!!!

For me, obviously 1. Kings Lynn. 2. Lakeside have done enough so far - probably just need to win home matches. 3.Poole - Just cant see them missing out and even if some (pawlicki for one) start to falter you just know MF will make changes to ensure they are strong when it matters.

4. Eastbourne - for a team that has struggled big time away they have earned some away points recently and really should have been taking home more points with them. At present id say they are the favourites for 4th place.

Cov i think will just miss out but its dependent on MJJ turning up and scoring as he should. If he does then they could push the Eagles out due to good away form.

So Wolves not going to make it then.

As a Poole fan I don't actually think Poole will get 2nd place!! I think they may get 4th or even scrape 3rd.

Kings Lynn

Coventry

Swindon

Poole

It doesn't make one iota difference what position you finish in, or how many points adrift, as long as you are in the top 4. The format of the league is such, that it is of no importance whether you finish 2nd; 3rd or 4th.

Just for a moment, think of the excitement created if say, qualification to the play-offs was open to teams finishing in positions 1st; 3rd; 5th and 7th. That would create a few issues, and arguments. Everybody would be in with a chance of winning the league and no one would be assured of qualification. Mind you it would make it into a bit of a lottery, but so what, the idea of any play-off, reduces all competition into lotteries .

But it would create a lot of fun though :rofl::rofl:

Swindon will make it now. Morris to have a month at 4 soon and rediscover his form and finish like last year. Dak and SG improved loads. Greaves is always in the mix and Worrall is the top at reserve at the moment.

Having said that we will prob be missing Worrall

on our away trips to Cov and Eastie and have to use Hopwood or Greenwood in his place meaning we will get d1cked and finish 5th!!!! All hail the FTD!!!

On a serious note it will be a disgrace if Eastbourne scrape in by a point or 2 after robbing us and Coventry of any chance of taking anything from there.

Kings Lynn and Poole definite, Then any two from ( My odds only :P ) Lakeside 2-1; Coventry 5-2; Swindon 7-2:and Eastbourne 10-1 bar.

Semi-finals: Stars V's Hammers; and Poole V's Bees :t:

thats exactly what I was saying the other day regarding the play offs lol.

Certainly didn't miss them - fair play to the Hammers on their result, but against a Wolves team who scored 2 points from their No.1. Lakeside & Eastbourne are certainly going to be in the mix, full credit on their season so far, but I think Lakeside will need to pick up something at Eastbourne and Belle Vue to make it. Should be a good close run.

Away results will make all the difference now and of course time will tell if the Hammers pick up any more.

Who will qualify/win the league?

My cynical head says it will be dependent upon how many points the inevitable R/R's produce, coupled with whether the respective guests perform to their potential! ;)

Anyway, for qualification, I believe it will be the following:

Kings Lynn

Lakeside

Coventry

Poole

Then it's fully dependent upon who chooses whom.

Lakeside - (obviously my team) to be the usual bridesmaid and get knocked out in the semis. I'm just fearing the inevitable heat-leader injury, that we generally get served up, to happen around late August.

Poole (with their current squad) to join us on the bench. I say with their 'current squad' because who knows what 'the master of deviousness & deception' has up his wizards sleeve? As mentioned above, it wouldn't surprise me to see Mr Hancock reintroduced towards the latter stages due to the 'win at all costs' mentality down on the South Coast.

Coventry - a dark horse that's been coming up the rails in the past few weeks. If Golden Bollox and Kenneth Hansen can consistently ride to their potential, with Garritty at reserve, they will be untouchable.

Kings Lynn - obviously, the team that deserve it given their performances this season. That said, it only takes one poor meeting (at either the home or away leg) and their dreams could be shattered.

My gut-feel tells me Coventry could do it. However, if there is any justice in this. World, then Kings Lynn deserve; particularly for their fans (irrespective of the fact that I think Lyon is a dick).

It's funny you should say that VOR, I was pondering this yesterday after I posted and that's what I came up with too. When they're all firing I think we can do it. It's probably Pie in the sky, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see a Lynn v Bees final!
