Crazy robin
Possibly because he wasn't asked the same question by the SS. Not trying to defend anyone here but it is very easy to quote certain words from someone's answers to enhance a story or make it more controversial. It's more than possible that Lyon went on to say how sad he was for Brum but that got cut because of space issues. If he did say exactly what is quoted then he was totally out of order. I take most things I read in most of the media with.a massive pinch of salt and cannot believe that anyone thinks they print the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Fair reply. Bagpuss
How many years do you want to go back to make your point stick ? Fourteen if you like, can remember him having a whinge back in 2000 when his Eagles got stuffed at Lynn. Probably his best one though was calling Sitera a roadblock a few years ago when one of his Lakeside riders wasn't good enough to pass him on his own track. Rob Lyon can moan without doubt but Cook wrote the handbook.
remembertheracers
Totally agree with all that post especially Rob Lyon moaning who seems to think more of himself than even Rosco does. Id say Lyon and Rossiter are the best team managers in the EL. Peter Adams has an awesome record but is an old man now. He can only answer the questions asked.
Star Fever
Good heavens what is all the fuss about? Lets face it - it IS bloody annoying to lose 10 well earned points thru' no fault of your own. Add to that the financial implications and surely its no wonder that Rob Lyon feels 'dejected'. No doubt Cook felt the same too but Speedway Star didn't ask him did they !! As it happens Lynn have a good lead still but those points COULD have meant play-offs or no play-offs any other year, and for Lakeside it still might matter. It is of course also annoying and sad that B'ham are no more - nobody would disagree with that - but their demise affects other teams too, especially those that have gained points form them and had expenses because of it. Surely its permissable for Rob Lyon to express that without people jumping down his throat??

SCB
Fourteen if you like, can remember him having a whinge back in 2000 when his Eagles got stuffed at Lynn. Probably his best one though was calling Sitera a roadblock a few years ago when one of his Lakeside riders wasn't good enough to pass him on his own track. Rob Lyon can moan without doubt but Cook wrote the handbook. In his defense he was right about Sitera and I called him a lot worse As for Rob Lyon - a bazar rant. I feel for them from a financial POV but the league points thing, tough rubbish!!
LagutaRacingFan
Rob Lyon is a sore loser.
The Voice Of Reason
So let's see Rob Lyon from another perspective, just for a moment. A Team Manager that inspects Lakeside's Safety Fences before a meeting, and goes bleating (like a spoilt schoolboy) to the referee prior to a meeting with his views; despite the fact that a SCB Accredited Referee has previously inspected/passed the track. Really? Surely not! I have nothing whatsoever against The Stars NOR Kings Lynn Supporters; and I wish you every ounce of good luck this season. However, let me be brutally honest about your Team Manager. To coin a phrase I've learnt since moving up here to The Midlands, the Geeza is an 'Utter Tw@t'! semion
I think for Rob Lyon's Comments Lynn should be thrown out of the League and the records expunged. How dare he have an opinion on a Speedway matter !! That is only the god given right of X Number of us on here. Blody Team managers and Promoters thinking they know it all, how can they compare with us keyboard warriors like us who have all the answers.

TonyE
Of course he can have an opinion The problem he has here was suggesting something that would have been patently unfair on other teams whilst, at the same time, benefitting his own! Penny Cross
Oh dear Mr Lyon. Major foot in mouth, assuming hes been fully quoted. Seeings as KL are at Poole on Wednesday, please return the sour grapes to their rightful home!
dump that clutch
thing is, this scenario will always bite someone in the bum due to the fact of the stupid lop sided fixture list where teams do not race against each other equally....
Bagpuss
They do this year. Having given it some thought is there not a case for example to leave all of the A fixtures in if everybody had ridden Brum home and away once and disregard any after that ie incomplete sets of fixtures?
Trees
Sounds a good idea Gordon! Up the Stars!!!
Bagpuss
Just trying to play devil's advocate really, doesn't make too much difference to Lynn either way. But rather than writing off 18 meetings as null & void at least a complete set of A fixtures would mean something.
castrolargh
Maybe I read the whole thing wrong, but didn't rob suggest that maybe only the "B" fixtures could have been expunged as everyone had completed the "a" fixtures against the brummies, so it would have still been a level playing field? Mountains, molehills etc Ah maybe I should have read all the posts, GB appears to have raised exactly the same points, only earlier! TonyE
The problem is Birmingham did not complete a full set of 'A' fixtures - 3 short at home and 2 away I believe.
Bagpuss
If that the case the whole idea is obviously a non starter.
Ott2trot
Seems that some people feel the need to have a pop at whoever is at the top of the table. At least Mat ford now gets a rest.........,,
