Poole Pirates Vs Kings Lynn Stars 23/7/2014

Recommended Posts

Why no Kerr in heat 14? Good gate 4 which Kerr used perfectly in heat 9 and somehow they let Rose to have 4th ride. Sense there was some deal/result fixing.

2 pts for Poole and 1 for Stars and everyone happy? Fishy

A pity to lose the last two heats 2-10 but a good point nevertheless, still feel there is more to come from this team. One thing is for sure, if these two sides meet in the Play Offs there will be barely a fag paper between them over thirty heats, same if we meet Swindon.

I hate when Ref decisions decide the out come of any match.

Tonight we have a closely fought match, 14 heats going one way then the other. Come the last heat the teams are but 2 pts apart. Everything is rest on the this one race. the Tapes go up, they race hard into the first bend. Unfortunately one rider falls down. Easy call, all four back, lets try again. The tension mounts. ..

But Hang on, the Ref has excluded a Lynn Rider, when all were jostling for that advantage. But in doing so, he is not only giving Poole the result of the match. but has made the whole evening into a mockery.... Brilliant.

And you wonder why people are turning their backs

Rose had had 2 reserves rides, plus 1 against the big boys (as a replacement for Bjerre - the irony!).

In the other one, he had been replaced by Kerr.

Bearing in mind King's Lynn are already through to the Play-Offs, Lyon presumably felt it was more beneficial for Rose to have a fairer 4th ride and put in 4 more laps as opposed to giving Kerr another ride.

Kerr had also ran a poor last in heat 12, and it's possible he may have had mechanical issues in that heat, which couldn't be resolved in time.

There was certainly more of a case for all four back in heat 15 than there was when it was all four back when Pawlicki fell all on his lonesome. That said, you can't offer poetic license to riders if there happens to be a lst heat decider.

No, but the ref must understand the tension and pressure that the riders are under when the match resulting from that one race......

Its swings and roundabouts with refereeing decisions for me, hopefully we might get one our way in the Play Offs. Just goes to show the fine margins though, we were possibly an engine failure and a questionable exclusion away from winning at WR again.

You make it sound like the end of the world if King's Lynn lost!

If KL were that bothered about the result, I'm sure they would've put Kerr in heat 14.

KL are already through to the play-offs, they all had their moments, no-one is injured, think they'll go home mostly satisfied.

With a bit of luck, they could've won, but if it means they save up their good luck for the finals, I don't think they'll mind a great deal.

Ah well, not too disappointed with that result - point gained for Lynn which is a bonus and point lost for Poole which they can ill afford to lose.

Not sure why Rory got the nod in ht15 tho - KB had been going good and was a chance he'd gate to a win, but all said and done didn't really matter.

Why is it a easy call and why is it a mockery ? The ref in his eyes under the rules righty or wrongly choose to exclude Puk . His call can never be clouded by what the score is or what the crowd want or not exclude someone in case the other team might win . People have turned there backs on the sport because of the sort of mickey mouse calls you want the ref to make .

This and the pairs last week has shown that some speedway fans indeed do like mickey mouse rules and calls

Well that was a cracking meeting, just a shame it had to end the way it did.I still believe had it been the first bend it would have been all four back, but that's the way it goes sometimes.Puk left milik no room but Milik went down a bit quick shall we say.But like i say it was a good meeting with all riders giving it their all.

Some good close racing in most heats,IF and i stress IF this does turn out to be the final we are in for two great legs with not a lot in it.Well done to Kings Lynn on your point you deserved it and well done to Kyle an awesome performance.Good crowd, good racing one satisfied punter.

Another very satisfied punter here, just back from a great crowd at Wimborne Road. Shame about the couple of mechanical issues and refereeing decisions that affected BOTH sides!!

When both teams have all their riders racing to their capacity it will make for a fine play-off meeting - hopefully!

So what sports do not put up prices for the finals of their competitions ?

If you go to a Speedway meeting you do not go there just for the 15 minutes of racing do you. In Tennis there is only 12 minutes play in an hour. Go horse racing and see 6 to 8 minutes racing. all afternoon. What about golf. If you followed Rory Mcilroy on one round in the Golf Open you would see about 7 or 8 minutes action. in 4 and a half hours at a cost of £50 or more.

You make a very valid point I've not seen before, hate golf, dont mind tennis, indifferent to horse racing.

This makes me feel all the more that speedway has to come up to date, cut the OAP and parrot presenters, if its an old record make it the odd one.

Get the top riders to do glam pics and get those nerdy hats off unless your bald. Leigh Adams always looked especially nerdy, but was going bald.

Hate most of Tai's ink, but its his body and in 2014 accept I wont see 40 or the Reading Racers again.

Just back from a 400 mile round trip. Really enjoyed the meeting it was close throughout and I thought the racing was excellent until about the last 4 heats when it was dusty and slick. Great atmosphere feel most of the decisions were correct apart from Pawlicki, the Iversen one was 50/50 from my view and it did spoil a last heat decider. Stood with some terrific, sporting fans on the 3/4 bend which made this a worthwhile trip. Really hope to get back there in the playoffs!

From the stand it looked like Puk had taken Pawlicki out and I wouldn't have been shocked to see him out do it's funny to see others saying there was no contact. Odd that Bjerre wasn't in 15 or Kerr in 14. Not sure I'd have picked 2 and 4 either.
