marko
Wet track or not what difference would it make you can't pass on it just ride around for four laps (I jest! Rider safety is of course important)
The Voice Of Reason
Pathetic decision to call this off. It was indeed. The one thing that Speedway Promoters strive for is cancelling meeting such as this - especially when they've had the opportunity of riding against a weakened team. Paying for riders travelling; paying staff wages; apologising to sponsors in attendance; racing when your team has hit some decent form, etc. pales into sheer insignificance when you can get a meeting cancelled mate. They must earn thousands through cancelling meetings.

justathought
Pathetic decision to call this off. Severe weather warnings everywhere. Gallons of water falling from the sky, riders expense's to pay, finding new date to stage the meeting etc......................................yeah pathetic. crash test dummy
Feel sorry for all those who travelled for the meeting but just looking at the weather forecast showed it was going to be hit and miss. Truth is the forecasters despite all the fancy gear they have just cannot forecast for localised areas like a speedway track unless it is a blanket rainfall situation. We nearly cancelled an outing last nite because of the forecast and there wasn't a drop of rain all evening! Also how about all those frustrated holidaymakers at Heath Row yesterday waiting for flights that had been cancelled because the forecast predicted severe thunderstorms for 2 hours. As it turned out would be travellers were hanging around watching the skies and there wasn't a cloud to be seen!
