Gaz
Another brilliant performance from the enigma, how much longer are they going to put up with performances like the last 2. Henry and rosen were released and were ridding better..time to take off the rose tinted glasses Lindgren has been riding well until last 2 meetings and the rest of the team are riding poorly as well apart from Danny King. The promotion need to take some of the blame as it has all backfired and the team has been weakened. No doubt all they will go on about at the end of the season is injuries as normal but not many of our top riders have been injured for any length of time. Season over! HadrianDog
Well firstly, it was great to be back for a league meeting at the OTA - it's been a long old time, which shown in the first few races as it took us a little while to get going before running away with it mid meeting. Some absolute belting racing mind - Heat 11, Heat 13 and Heat 15 all brilliant, not to mention Nick Morris coming off 15 metres and many other great races. Danny King was superb, a real classy rider and stunning race with Nick Morris where they passed and repassed in heat 13 - by far the best visiting rider to the OTA this year. Nearly every race had something going on, it was a brilliant meeting! Stuart Robson started badly with the tapes offence and was poor in his next, before he started to come to the party and had a cracker with Brady in heat 12 with Brady riding a stormer to win it. I expected so much more from Lewis Kerr who was literally non existent all night long. How has Chris Mills become so poor? He was dire. Lindgren wasn't much better, gated okay but soon went backwards. Lewis Rose deserved a lot more than 1 point, good gating again but eaten up by the Rebels but always in the mix - should be at reserve and being in the main body can't be doing him any good at all. Simon Nielsen started well with a win and was poor there after, and a sickening crash too - can still hear his screams now from when he was led on the track. Very nasty. Newcastle were as poor as the scoreline suggests, aswell as the Rebels being good - but a cracking meeting in terms of the racing on track with some top riders too. Glad to hear that - could of been alot worse. Thanks for the trackside input. Sounds like a good live meeting to watch. We all go to watch a pass on pass style meeting so yet again we have supplied it to your viewing public, better if all the lads had come to the party though. whowasthatberntpersson
Score wise this meeting was very one sided, but the racing was top shelf. One of the best meetings I've seen this year. The track rode very very well. The King / Morris clashes were highlights for me. King was on the edge, very very fast. Very enjoyable. I've said it for a few weeks now, Somerset will be hard to beat over two legs against any team including Edinburgh.
ruffdiamond
Well that's a relief. I was thinking - here we go again. Dreadful Result tonight. Very sad. At least Danny King seems to have ridden well. No comment about anybody else. why's that then ???,,, too many of them to mention ;-) well,,, lets see how George's diplomatic post mortem goes :-(,,, obviously, apart from King and maybe Mills and Nielsen,,, the rest of the team did'nt seem to ride to anywhere near their average's,,, really disappointing away from home, are Newcastle thus far this season, and that's our downfall :-(,,, to do anything you need to be getting points on the road, which I do think we are capable of, but dunno what's going wrong, surely can't all be down to the usual 'set-ups' theory or bad luck,,, IMOO

ruffdiamond
When Rosen and Henry was released Lindgren had the best average over the season, meaning that he scored more points and although Anton is'nt riding over here, (how is he after his crash anyway),,, Henry's ave. still seems to be on the decline, whereas Ludvig's is being maintained, more or less,,, am sure some facts n figure's man will correct me if i'm wrong,,, I know on Brough form who I would choose,,,
EnglishRoundabout
As previously mentioned, Simon Nielsen was clearly in pain after his coming together with Brady Kurtz. Credit to young Brady who himself took a heavy knock, (head first into the air fence) quickly getting to his feet and hauling his bike off of Nielsen's bike, which was also lying on top of Simon's leg. By the time both machines were removed, Nielsen's boot was actually smouldering, so good news to hear he didn't suffer serious burns. The racing was top drawer with the Rebels riders treating the crowd with some high speed, daring passes. Danny King was in awesome form, looking perfectly at home on the OTA, which he hadn't ridden since 2006. Robbo was there or thereabouts and always prepared to mix it with the Somerset riders but the rest of the Diamonds didn't look up for the battle. The highly respected and experienced George English left the tactical's far too late in my opinion. Heats 11 and 12? They were 10 down as early as heat 7. By the time king wore the black and white helmet in heat 11, the Rebels were away and gone in the distance.
oldtimer
The score line definitely did reflect the quality of the racing, you would have thought it was a play off final the way the two teams were having a go at each other on the track. Danny King very impressive and he was the only Diamond who realised the fastest way around the Oak Tree was the wide outside, The Diamonds often made the gate but hugged the inside and were continually getting passed on the outside coming out of the second bend. Chewbacca
The Newcastle boys were lacking throttle control by the looks of it Not required at the OTA. A fast bike is.

No, but our away results are shocking at best bordering on embarrassing..and going on reports so are most of our performances...

Gaz
So, we will just ignore the last two home matches shall we? I wasn't there, but was it not a case that no one else was worth putting a B & W on, as they were all riding poorly? Surely we had to try something instead of waiting until we were 22 points behind. This season has been a joke and we seem to have a poor attitude when travel away ie every time we go to Scunthorpe we blame the track. It had stopped raining when the meeting started yet when I read the programme last week both George and Roy made it sound dangerous and if it was torrential. The Scunny riders were passing us with ease and we still had the nerve to ask for track inspection.
Arson fire
The post I was replying to was directed at a particular rider, I believe, not the team as a whole. yeah I see now sorry,Even still he's been atrocious away from home ( like a few others) and very enigmatic at home. When he's good he's good but it's not often enough for a rider at number 5, riding with reserves, being beaten regularly by opposition reserves aswell.... It's not good enough from neither him nor the team on the whole. And why we have persevered with him god knows, because it can't be on the back of 4 or 5 performances surely... Yes he has held his ( roughly 7 point)average, but he needs to surpass that to be any worth to any team riding as a heat leader, ESP riding against mostly reserves or 2nd strings in his first 3 races. Why do we not have robbo at 5??, ( ESP away)his partnership with Kerr has been good but having 2 of you're best 3 riders paired up means we are like lambs to the slaughter in other heats. I see what you say, so why bother then ???,,, the other night at Sheffield might have been different had Kerr or Robson donned it when they got a 5-1,,, a dunno, sloppy management ???

I agree with what your saying, but, for whatever reason, we don't seem to want to 'juggle' the team around for away matches. I think having Robbo at 5 would help and put Ludde to 3, as we know Lewi K (generally) can look after himself. Maybe we've just gave this season up and are already preparing for next??.... That could be suicidal if that's case. Fans (quite rightly) would be saying "if they can't be bothered, then why the hell should I."

I started a thread about that a while ago,,, but think it was removed, lol
