BeoBrummie
It seems Tony Mole is quite keen on resurrecting the Brummies in 2015, in what league he won't say. Apparently there are a few problems to be ironed out but happily the GRA doesn't appear to be one of them! Below are the last couple of articles from the local rag http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/other-sport/tony-mole-keen-resurrect-birmingham-7433245 http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/other-sport/tony-mole-plans-birmingham-talks-7441673 Edited July 17, 2014 by BeoBrummie

brianbuck
I don't have any inside knowledge of Tony's plans but I would think it logical that they will be about Premier League racing. Clearly the Elite League cannot last much longer in its present form and will have to eventually amalgamate with the Premier - and common sense says that this is going to be on the Premier League clubs' terms for surely none of them will vote for or accept, anything which increases their costs. If that means that the top Elite League riders desert their clubs then so be it. In the long term, that may well be for the best.

Agree 100%, But I do fear that certain EL promoters/teams could spoil what is a good Premier Lge ???

Here's to next Season with Birmingham in the Premier League.
stansolo
Hope the fighting fund have a figure head that may have some sort of say to any prospective takeover, the collection has really shown a strong feeling. jimmy jimmy
How are they going to put a team together for the PL? No riders I can think of going spare.
Mike.Butler
Birmingham should join the PL before that leagues closes its door to EL clubs looking to join as the EL shrinks to >8 clubs, and thereby cause unsustainable wage inflation and an un-level playing field where the rich win and the rest capsize trying to keep up. I'm afraid 'big' clubs joining and expecting using their relative superior financial muscle to chase pots must be resistsed by the PL. After all that league is realistically the future of BL speedway in the medium term.

kernowken
Hopefully a consortium can be formed and the BRUMMIES can go Premier League in 2015 hopefully with Wizzer as team manager.

I would'nt worry too much , the middle division has had it's fingers burned enough times in the past , dont think they will get caught out again (hope so anyway )
25yearfan
Nothings been posted on the Brummies forum for a couple of days now so nothings been missed! With the excellent response to the fighting fund, the stadium owners apparently wanting speedway to return, Tony Mole and others interested as well as sponsors I'd say Birmingham speedway can re emerge next season, probably in the Premier League and be sustainable if ran right! ProudtobeaBrummie
Brummies forum currently been repaired... My proposal which Ive spoke to the fighting fund about is continuing the fund and I'm looking for approx 100 people to donate around 10 a month towards the fund so we can keep building it up for our use if and when needed this will increase the fund by approx £12,000 a year it will also show potential owners we have a loyal hardcore who are prepared to do that little extra for the club.. Now I've spoke to a few people about it and have had decent feed back and around 15 people I've spoken to would join such a scheme some prepared to make 15 to 20 pound donations...with the club shutting mid season most these people have saved 300-400 quid anyway with admission programme drinks fuel if not more .... Please remember this would be for us as the fans for our future not to be handed over to the potential new owners... Feed back please on your thoughts of this idea lets try keep this thread sensible

Any stone shouldn't go unturned in the fight for long term speedway at Perry Barr.
Trees
You need to be able to trust your promoter though!
ProudtobeaBrummie
We know only too well trees but we can trust each other that's one thing we can be sure on... An open meeting needs to be setup amongst supports at the end of the day we can only do what we can . We're aware of the pitfalls because we have fell down most of them but I want to put our supporters fund in a strong position for our long term future .. At the end of the day a new promotion shouldn't need our fund that would send alarm bells off immediately ,they need us to get the terraces packed first and foremost .. Can it be done ?? Who knows but we will try our hardest

Feed back please on your thoughts of this idea lets try keep this thread sensible Dont quite understand what we would do with the money, is it for the riders, the rent, track staff or stadium staff, how would we use it and who looks after it. Not to trust worthy of promoters at the moment following the Phillips saga, lost a lot of money because of those gits. Like the idea in principal but would need a lot of reasons why I would hand any money over to a promoter unless he was hand cuffed to me. Already decided never to have a season ticket again so could afford 10 to 15 quid a month to go into a fund, but would need cast iron proof it was going to the right people.
