Photo's On This Forum?

Recommended Posts

I am not sure why photos rarely appear on this forum. I am a member of a couple of professional weather forums and photos/sscreenshots/charts are posted on a regular basis.. If it's allowed (cannot think why it shouldn't be) can someone explain how you do it please?

Cheers

Karl

Porbably to do with the bandwith, but I'm sure someone will give the ultimate reason.

There was. Number of reasons such as bandwidth, virus, page loading speed.

Many have now changed, unfortunately some will still post I inappropriate images but can give it a trail. Should be able to upload in the gp section for now ?

Links to photos are pinned to SPEEDWAY NEWS AND DISCUSSIONS. Several people post links to their photos. I post there a reasonable amount it takes you to where my photos are hosted. You can view them easily and in general people post their stuff in meeting order.

I do it for my pleasure, i don't sell or provide others with photos and i would suggest the posting of actual photos would cause a massive fuss due to image rights etc. equally i wouldn't put it past some forum users to steal my images and sell them themselves

There has been a serious discussion on this forum re this subject

I was only enquiring because sometimes the odd bit of a screenshot of a broken bike related to the post would be beneficial to the thread, or a screenshot of a historical scorecard or God forbid, an action shot related to a post/thread..

Cannot believe this forums posters cannot be trusted to post only relevant pics/screenshots to the thread in question, no wonder our sports in such a mess, from the top down, from the bottom up, to left and right, we really do think we're something we ain't!!!!!!!!!

I assume you're taking the mick with your post ?

No wonder our sport is in a mess ? This is the internet mate...people will spam the crap out forums like this if they get the chance,

Just out of interest, what screenshots of a broken bike or historical scorecard would you like to post ?

My memory is pretty bad..but aren't you the air-fence bloke ?

I've had to put 4 question marks in my post, and thats actually annoyed me. I hope you reply after all that.

What's an air fence bloke?

I have absolutely nothing to do with air fences of any kind, anywhere!!!

What a rude person you are, I have never had a go at another forum poster, ever...

I just find it strange that some people make statements on here that could be backed up with a photo, screenshot etc and that would reinforce and enhance the post/thread.

As I said I am a keen amateur weather forecaster, and spend an equal amount of time on a weather forum, and photos, chart screenshots enhance the experience.

Everyone on here, well a lot of people seem to suspect everyone else has some sort if agenda, or just criticise every post everywhere!

Ok, apologies, you perhaps arent the guy who went on a crusade arlier this year regarding air-fences.

But whether you think me and my reply were rude or not, it still stands i'm afraid - how ridiculous for you to say "no wonder our sport is in a mess" in connection with your ability to post a picture on here.

Absolutely pathetic.

I'm also still at a loss to imagine anything other than a tiny handful of posts that could genuinely ever benefit from a picture or screenshot as you put it.

Personally I prefer a link to a picture. That way if I want to see it I can chose to do so, as can anyone else. It's not exactly difficult to click on a link, even my cat can do it :P

Yes it is easy to click on a link, what I am having problems with at the moment is creating that link. All these tech guy's that come on here seem to think we are all tech genius's. Many of us are just basic p.c. users. You just have to look at the icons above as I write this post e.g. "My Media" it may as well be a foreign language for all the help it is to me!

That is true.We should be able to choose what images we see.I wouldn't want people posting images of bad crashes on here for example.Think it is also a bit worrying that now on Facebook people post videos and they play even if i haven't clicked on them.A link is sufficient and if i choose to click on it that is my decision

Yes, I hate that. There is a way to stop it happening and I changed my settings accordingly about a month or so ago but now they've gone back to automatically playing again. If only I could remember what I did.

Its quite straight forward Gem. Go into 'settings' in your facebook (from the drop down button on the right hand side of your facebook page). The menu on the left hand side has 'video settings' at the bottom, click that and it will bring up a bar for auto play. Change the setting on the right hand side to 'off' and thats you :)

Thanks Lioness. Just checked and it is set to 'Off' still. Perhaps it was because I'd added the video of the disabled dogs running around to my own timeline so it played automatically.
