Agrotron
Is there any effort being made to find new premises, has any fans started a campaign yet? It seems to be very quiet and are carrying on the season time is of the essence. Correct me if I am wrong

The Voice Of Reason
I have little doubt that Mr. Sandhu's time is being taken up at the moment working out how many flats and houses he can squeeze into the available land at Brandon.
speedybee
Not true to say there is lack of local interest. I did mention that I would have been happy to chair such a meeting as the one Colin proposed if I'd have been free of commitments on the suggested date. I think there is a general feeling that people don't want to rub the stadium owners up the wrong way, but there are several key issues that need to be addressed and put to the stadium owners, which I listed on another thread. Perhaps the time to do this is sooner rather than later.
ColinMills
thats true speedybee, you were clearly the person to be on board. if you decide what dates are best by YOU, just maybe this can get moving..
Agrotron
People need to start moving on this and start fighting tooth and nail because time soon passes and to lose Coventry Speedway is a bitter pill to swallow
mdmc82
Was announced on radio couple of weeks ago that they are searching everywhere for land for a new stadium, problem they have faced so far is how much empty land is already brought for houses. Â They have asked fans to get in touch if they know any farmers with free land or can think of any areas they could possibly use (whilst considering noise restrictions as well)
LagutaRacingFan
I'm actually shocked at the lack of a response from the Bee's fans, ironically they seem more passionate about Poole and Matt Ford bending the rules rather than the own survival of their own club. Â It's a case of, let's bury our head in the sands and then claim outrage when the inevitable happens, pro-action is needed, not a reaction.

TesarRacing
A lack of response on a internet forum does not mean nothing is being done or that supporters don't care. A thread on 'Coventry Speedway' wont save the club. It worries me these days that everything has to revolve around social media and forums rather than what is happening in the 'real world'. Â A case in point was the frenzy around Coventry seemingly not making any changes to their rider line-up and then out of the blue, Michael Jepsen Jensen pops up!!!

This is the way things have modernised you can get info out quicker and to a bigger audience on social media.  The intention of this thread is to try and find out what is actually happening on the situation of Coventry Speedway of course this thread is not going to save the club that was not its purpose, it just has been silent on here of late regarding this and the lack of response was a little worrying
Woz01
The fact is we dont no anything about the sale of the stadium, has it even been sold? A fans forum with Sandhu is needed for us to fully understand the situation as it stands. I still dont see how anyone could build houses on the site, far to many restrictions around the area. I dont think the locals will be too keen either.
Agrotron
Has any approach been made by anyone to Sandhu?
oleoleole
As said before, the last official news I've seen is that the sale is imminent. Nothing since. Â So; has the sale been completed? If so, who to? And if sold, what are the buyers plans? Â Once these questions have been answered officially, we can then move on.

speedybee
Yes, of course, Colin. I've passed a message onto Sandhu detailing some of the questions that are on supporters' minds and he may or may not get back to me, or issue a more general statement depending on what stage of negotiations he is at.. watch this space. It would be good to make contact with the MP and let him know some of the supporters concerns directly and how we can all work together - lobbyists, stadium owners, current promotion and fans - to ensure the continuation of speedway in or around Coventry.

beerspanner
I have looked on GVA website agents for sale of Brandon still listed for sale . I suspect any interested parties are waiting for rugby council to grant planning permission . Perhaps the Mayor of Rugby can confirm any interest.
