pandorum
Its weird, I know it's France too but still say Frank! As for Loktaev, he's Russian, they have a different alphabet so the spelling is a loose translation at best. This is true but one would imagine the Poles knew how to pronounce it and they say Loktaev. Poor form from the commentator. I frequently write russian riders names and was at one point a bit worried if I'm getting them right or not. Then I read a big story on our newspaper that around 60% of russians themselves dont know the correct spelling of their name. I just stick with the first once picked.
pandorum
These two clowns are worse than the Jack and sam show. Lokatev did not hold on cos Lokatov was not there. Can't these morons read? I frequently write russian riders names and was at one point a bit worried if I'm getting them right or not. Yes but I bet 100% know what their own name IS Edited July 8, 2014 by pandorum
Ghostwalker
Västervik needs a 5-1 in heat 15 to take the bonus point. if a 4-2 there will be a re-run for the bonus point. 3-3 or better for Dackarna and they take the bonus point. brandonbee48
Totally poor there in heat 14 when they babbled on about "Lokatev" when you could see the "7" on Aspregen's back throughout. Also the pre-race from the pits showed poor old Locatev winching in pain and holding his shoulder. Get a grip fellas- that's what you are paid to do.

Especially when we see the usual Kel and Nige haters bulling this new guy up. Eurosport commentator are not good enough to wash Nige's microphone covers. Every lap had the blokes name on the caption and still these idiots did not realise. Edited July 8, 2014 by pandorum
lukasdrymllukas
Bit harsh on the Brummie bloke for 1 mistake... Steve0
The main announcer is better than the other one they use - he seems to have knowledge of speedway whereas the other guy made the gaff of the year a while back when he said a rider's hand was hurting when he was asking the ref for the green light Don't get me started about Ermolenko - soooo annoying! How many times does he get Kylmakorpi wrong by referring to him as Makorpi - so many more gaffs it's really annoying!!

Ghostwalker
Wrong choice of rider for the home team in heat 15............KK off gate 1 was a no brainer surely????? KK was not eligible to be picked for heat 15. The team managers can only choose between the three best scorers (including bonus points). The individual point was: 1 K. Kasprzak 1 1 2 3 7 2 T. Jędrzejak 3 2* 0 2 7+1 3 Prz. Pawlicki 2 3 2* 0 0 7+1 4 H. Andersen 1* 2* 3 0 1 7+2 So Kasprzak could not be picked. Heat 15 should have been Jędrzejak and Pawlicki. daveallan81
Was the result of Heat 7 amended? Official Svemo score gives Jedrezak third and Kasprzak fourth but it was the other way round on screen.
Ghostwalker
Was the result of Heat 7 amended? Official Svemo score gives Jedrezak third and Kasprzak fourth but it was the other way round on screen. It is probably just the person who puts the score in who put them in the wrong order. The referee writes his own scores in his report and those are the one that counts for averages and official results. If there is something wrong the what is entered I think it will be corrected afterwards since all scores are preliminary until approved by Svemo (in case of protests and etc). Ikaros Smederna vs. Piraterna is next week's televised meeting which will be shown live on Eurosport 1 at 6pm in the Uk while mainland Europe seems to have to wait until 8pm CEST for the live broad cast on Eurosport 1. Bagpuss
Decent meeting in terms of the score but thought the racing was fairly ordinary considering the track looked nice and wide and well prepared. If Shamek had gated in heat 15 he'd have been gone but Andersen looked slow and was soon gobbled up.

It's like Emil, I believe his surname can be spelt with an i, j or y for the 3rd letter. We tend to use the y, the Poles look like they use the j. Yet I've seen it spelt with the i too - including on most online translators! Bit if you're being pedantic, his name is Эмиль Сайфутдинов Edited July 8, 2014 by SCB
SteveLyric2
I've asked this before but does anyone know if the commentators are seeing exactly the same as the viewers are seeing in their studio (presumably in London)?? Is there any slight time delay - either for the commentators or the audience? Aside from identifying riders by their racing numbers, presumably they get the same on-screen graphics as we see, at the same time?! The Loktaev/Aspregen confusion was just crazy!!

Cramped and claustrophobic but so atmospheric when you put the lights down. Nice work if you can get it, what's the dough like? The time has come to fulfill my destiny as the Ted Lowe of speedway. For those of you watching on freebie internet feeds the white rider is directly behind the yellow. I missed the Aspegren change as well. That's a rarity - a rider replaced by a reserve in a rerun with no exclusion or fall to speak of. It came up on the titles pre-race so no excuses really. He did correct his error, and mine, as soon as he realised so fair play.
