westhamboy66
Everything that could go wrong went wrong but Mildenhall have a very decent side, nowhere near Cradley but still very decent. As a Rye Fan it was good to see Simon Lambert doing well at both Mildenhall and at home last night. Shocking track with a blue groove appearing at heat nine i had more dust in my hair than dirt on the track, I'm not an advocating loads of dirt but enough that they are still racing on dirt rather than the base of the track at heat fifteen A quality replacement for David Mason is badly needed as i think his time is up and it would see a better side winning at home and picking up the odd point away. That said you can't carry a reserve every week even at NL level Not bad luck Rye and Kent are both woefully understrength !Hit the nail on the head but i fear if more were spent at both tracks on the team there would be no speedway at either venue. Catch 22 really Silver would say he need to cut expenses to stay alive, fans say give us a decent team otherwise I'm not going. Me i love my Speedway so tolerate following poor teams but i am in the minority i fear Edited July 8, 2014 by westhamboy66
whistlegang
The one redeeming fact was that this was not a league match, but the National trophy comp more or less a fixture filler in my opinion on the scorecard it said NL so what a relief to find out it was actually NT! A quality replacement for David Mason is badly needed as i think his time is up and it would see a better side winning at home and picking up the odd point away. are you kidding me?! DM is our second best rider at home. yes he has been poor away up until now but he did top score at Stoke 3 days ago. We need a number 1 that is going to go out there and get the job done 90% of the time. We keep mucking up the first two heats and are up against it for the rest of the meeting. Â No reason why Kent Kings should not bounce back and surprise you! i could have cried after the first few heats last night! Lambert was just magnificent and worth the admission fee on his own. I left the stadium with my confidence restored because of him. Add that to Mason returning from illness, Compton undoubtedly going on to win his final race (hopefully he has some cash to replace his engine), and Ayres leaving in time to make the meeting, and we will give Cradley a decent go. I have to say (and the last thing i want to do is upset anybody here because he is so popular), is that Morley just does not seem up to being number 1 for us. In the last 3 meetings he has not even won a single race. What is going on?!

I think Morley must have some bad machinery/engine problems at the moment although he always seems to come up trumps for Lakeside but can't perform yet at Premier league, puzzling. whistlegang
Can i just add that i am a Morley fan. I have spoken to him a couple of times and i get why he is so popular. It looks like he is saving his best for the EL - i get that also. It just hurts us fans when our number 1 is way off the pace. in heat 1 he left the track almost oblivious that the other bikes were literally a few meters away from colliding with him. Â We Got Ben Morley, come on Ben! Â TWG
Falcon Hammer
I'm sure Ben is trying his best for both clubs, after all he's got to No.1 by getting some great results. Â The reason why Ben gets good scores for Lakeside because the track is so smooth and his style perfectly suits the shape & size of the track: his T1/2 lines are perfect and he makes it seem so effortless

Kent Whistle Gang
Wasn't aware that Morley blew an engine, when did that happen? In fact I'd almost convinced myself that Ben is actually on vacation at the moment and that some lesser rider is showing up for Kings' matches. I know he is hugely popular with Kings' fans but he can't afford to look fantastic at Lakeside one minute, and mediocre at Kent the next. I certainly saw Benji Compton blow his engine at the start line. He came out on one of Lambo's bikes after that. After looking off the pace initially, they got the bike dialled in right just in time for heat 14. I ain't got no concerns about Benji's commitment to the cause - just hope he can magic up another engine from somewhere. And while we're on the subject of magic (see what I did there?), why the hell would we want him to bow out now? Take him out of the equation and the team collapses. He is our 3rd best rider currently, and he still has a massive role to play in our season, not least as a mentor in the pits. To suggest that he is not 'quality' is disrespectful in the extreme. His nickname would be 'Quality' if it wasn't 'Magic' already (and if 'Quality' didn't sound quite so naff as a nickname). Â Aaron Baseby looked unremarkable. We were speaking to a Mildenhall fan who reckons we've let the wrong rider go; he reckons Chessell is a better prospect and that Baseby is unreliable, as evidenced by how many clubs have 'let him go', including the Fen Tigers. As for Harris, apart from beating Mountain in heat 4, his only other points were in heats where only 3 riders finished. Danny Ayres needs to wake his ideas up; it's no good being committed and passionate if you can't plan your travel properly. Â Lambert was just sensational. I couldn't be more pleased for him and hopefully that performance will have silenced those fans who accuse him (and not Morley, that's rich) of concentrating more on his EL & PL clubs. He could not have given more for the Kings last night and he has since said how great if feels to be accepted by Kings' fans at last. Â Oh, and the score was 38-56 BTW. paul 12
Rather than knock Ben why not give him some support if he has blown an engine then its hes the one that got to pay for it not you and why would any rider go out on the track and not try as this s more money to find i think some people need to think before writing as riders or familys read this forum and might make riders think why so i bother when all thats going to happen is they are going to get put down.
waco
A short time ago it was Simon taking all the flack now its Ben Who is next ? All riders go through difficult times when they are not at their best and there are many reasons.,.bike problems . Worrying where they are going to find the money for repairs and parts,,,,,not feeling to well but still trying to do their best,?, carrying a small injury ? Tiredness through long distance travelling several times a week to meetings,,combined with a full time job,,, these facts are seldom known to the average fan ,,they should try doing what these lads do,,, it aint easy ... So have a thought , how would you feel, they are not machines...
adz_mft
I like Morley as a rider.Always seems to ride Mildenhall well and is a popular choice of guest when we have used him.For me though he needs to get away from the whole Len Silver set up to further his career.I hope next season he rides elsewhere and gets to the standard he is capable of. whistlegang
Are we not allowed to query why he has been doing so well for Lakeside and not for Kent then? It is a concern as he has been so reliable for us but seems so down on power since he went to number 1. Everybody at Central Park wants Ben to do well (nobody more than me). He has earned his shot at being number one. I'll be cheering him on again next Monday when hopefully he can start to get some form back riding for us. He was outstanding against Cradley last season at home so we will need him big time. And just for the record, David Mason got a paid maximum in that meeting. Â Maybe Boxall put a spell on the number 1 jacket before he left?! waco
Your absolute right to criticise who you like, A J is king ..however i ask the question what good does it do,,others previously involved with the club had simular views they have now departed..What ever you think of Len Silver i doubt there would have been any speedway at central park. without him... Name others with the financial clout and expertise that would be willing to run a speedway club in the present financial climate.. If Mr Cairnes was willing to run the club on his own,, ive no doubt he could do so ..Be carefull what you wish for ...

You speak sense but; 1) The fact that some others left because of Mr Silver is a real problem and holds Club back.IMHO. 2) I understand Mr Silver had to be at Club at the beginning to get things started, but not to go on and on. 3) Do not know enough about the financial situation if he has to be there or if somebody else needs to come in. waco
I would guess that Mr Cearns is happy with the status quo There for i dont see any change in the promotion set up,, So you are entitled to your opinion, but it will not change anything... Thanks for pointing out my name spelling mistake i tend to do that wrong every time... Whistle Gang ,all riders have below par meetings and there is of course usually a reason for it which i have explained in a previous post t ,,but such matters are kept in house ,ie,Pit crew ,,family... It is also a fact that most riders are better on some tracks than others and these things need ,to be taken into account when making judgements on any riders form , i am not refering here to any one rider but genralising,..Thank you for your support of all the Kent team Edited July 9, 2014 by waco
