Having already had five rides apiece in the preceding National League clash Martin Knuckey and Ryan Terry-Daley formed a powerful partnership for the Vikings. They took the first heat with a maximum 5-1 win to set their side off in fine style. The home side bounced back with two 4-2 heat wins with Adam Sheppard suffering bike troubles on a new bike he had just bought. Heat 3 saw a classic battle between Conor Dwyer and home No. 1 Adam Kirby with Dwyer losing shape on the last bend and the race to the line say the duo side by side with the verdict going the way of the home rider. This levelled the scores at 9 apiece. Then in heat 4 the Knuckey and Terry-Daley partnership were on another 5-1 before Knuckey hit the deck on the pits turn . The Kings Lynn pair missed him but his bike was hit by the following machine and suffered extensive damage to the engine plates with oil spilling out forcing Knuckey out of the meeting. Terry-Daley won both heats 4 and 5 with Sheppard notching a vital third in the penultimate heat to put his side two points ahead . Terry-Daley came in for Knuckey for his ninth ride of the night! Kirby led the race whilst Kinsley took advantage of a mistake by Dwyer who was in third spot behind a tiring Terry-Daley and it looked like being a draw but Kinsley came down and was excluded and the race was awarded as a drawn heat giving the two league points to the CITY GEARBOXES Vikings. This moves them into a spot where it is all very tight for qualification for the play off finals at the end of the season so there is plenty for them to aim at. The Vikings are in action at Stoke on Saturday night taking a 12 point lead with them in the MDL KO Cup with a semi-final against Sheffield as the prize for the overall victors. Buxton’s Adam Extance comes in as a guest for the Vikings with Martin Knuckey unavailable along with Conor Dwyer and Adam Sheppard.
