Woz01
Maybe because the meeting's not at Wolverhampton ...Garrity has hardly pulled up any trees elsewhere He has been excellent for Coventry all season and at a number of tracks. 2nd best FTD rider for me and close to Kerr, he beat him 3 times at Kings Lynn last week.

Well seeing Cov pick him first in the draft you would hope so ...All he's done this year before last night is beat up Nl riders hardly anything to write home about . No doubt he is a good rider but must people including Jason know he's had a poor season for someone of his talent . T.N.T.
Well Done to Coventry on a well deserved win but this highlights so much that the race format this season is terrible and thankfully looks set to be changed or scrapped next season. Bees won the meeting mainly due to the fact they had a brilliant draft rider in Jason Garrity who to be fair beat Woffy in the British Final but against reserves and second strings, he was always going to be their key rider. It amazws me that the format was agreed when you see the away #4 come out after everyone else has haf a ride already and has to go up against the home team 1/5 combination ...... but then the following heat the away 1/5 comes out against a weak pairing resulting in 5-1 followed by 1-5 Yes Wolves missed Pawlicki, but Rory Schlein rode well and his 8+1 from his four rides was well earnt and only getting the rough end of the first bend cost him scoring in the nominated heat but it was also a good move by Andersen and Harris. With other teams below Wolves having a number of home matches advantage, it now looks most likely that only Leicester will stop us from being wooden spooners unless there is a dramatic imrovement away which is hard against teams that have three heat leaders ..... but at least we can look forward to next season with Tai averaging under 8, Pawlicki just over 7 and maybe a recall for a bit of experience as a third heat leader on a sub seven average !!! Think youre spot on regarding third heat-leader,almost certainly PK will return for a final hurrah next season. He has finally showed signs of slowing down now with Essex, but still could do a decent job for us on an average possibly less than 6.5. Some may think its a backward step, but as an asset, and given our record of splashing the cash, think a deal is 99% certain. Note Proctor was his usual self last night ,getting beaten by Scunthorpe second strings.
stevebrum
Agree. Surely PK will be at Wolves next season especially on an average less than 7. CVS and Adams really screwed up this year with the 3rd heat leader position. In my opinion Proctor, Thorssell & Wells are no where near heat leader standard riders. I really hope to see PK finish his UK career off in a Wolverhampton race suit. Really depends on the formula next season because quite a few riders have struggled in the 3rd heat leader role this season. PK hasn't looked at his best this year and i wonder if its still bike issues or whether time is finally catching up with him. My money is on the former tho. PK is loved at Monmore and on a lowish average i would imagine is what the fans would want. At the risk of sounding controversial i think its time to look to the future and hopefully we will see Tai and Piotr back as certainties. Id rather try and get Piotr to persuade one of his Polish chums (Zmarzlik, Dudek, Predzpelski as eg) to come and try a season in the EL. That would be a forward move. Or even get Oliver Bernzton to replace Proctor now.
New Science
I mentioned on the Lakeside/Wolves thread about crowds being down at Wolves/Swindon last week.Think there was slightly more last night, but think supporters are now voting with their feet now the the play-offs are virtually gone. Obviously gate money being down will be a worry for CVS and Adams, but another worry could well be future sponsor money from Dave Parry, who i think was paying on performance related results with a minimum of getting to the play-offs. The punters unfortunately have been voting with their feet all season, even when the play offs were very achievable ! Wouldn't be surprised if the money CVS coins in from the Heathens on a Tuesday is propping the Wolves business up.
