orion
Happy days! Why hasn't Rosco picked Garrity in the GB squad? Maybe because the meeting's not at Wolverhampton ...Garrity has hardly pulled up any trees elsewhere
thecoombdog
Happy days! Why hasn't Rosco picked Garrity in the GB squad? Because he has zero chance of getting within half a lap of Ward, Holder, Batch and Doyle at KL.

stevebrum
Well that was probably the best meeting at Monmore so far this year. Track was superb with times holding out all the way thru. Well done Doc and the team for a superb race track tonight. That`s the positives. Coventry deserved the win tonight - despite them being a 3 man team. They would have been extremely unlucky if we somehow snuck a maximum in the last race - but then Schlein is no Piotr. In all honesty i`m hoarse from shouting for the boys tonight, sometimes in desperation more than anything. Like others have said , my patience is wearing thin with Wells and in particular Proctor. I usually sing his praises but he is costing us match after match. Bizarrely he sort of did his job tonight but nearly blew it in Heat 7. He won heat 12 with some comfort but i am always nervous when Ty is the more experienced rider in the race. A few drops of rain fell on and off throughout the night and just started to get steady after heat 15. Good to see all the riders on the terraces during the interval doing there bit for Tai`s charity. Fair play to the Cov boys as well for helping out. The meeting for me was lost when our `true` home number one got injured and we had to use an inferior guest. No disrespect to Rory (for a change) or any rider trying to cover for him. Its virtually impossible. Still cant understand the logic of one Bees fan that thought Rory was a like for like guest. Not on (real) averages and not on Monmore form. A wonderful meeting to watch, all that was wrong was the score! WOLVES WOFFY - sublime in 4 heats (heat 5 was pure class) but was nowhere in contention in a crucial heat 13 bizarrely letting Rory do nothing in 3rd. 4/5 TY - at least showed some fight but keeps making error after error in a race that costs him, his partner and the team points.2/5 JACOB - his score doesn't reflect the effort. He beat MJJ twice and Hans in a superb battle in heat 11. Remains a highlight of our season. Extra half point for effort. 2.5/5 MOTM RICKY - looked so quick in his first 2 heats then struggled but came good by getting past Hansen in Heat 14. The fact he gated and then let the lead slip however goes against him. 2.5/5 SCHLEIN - Never was he going to score what Piotr would likely have, and Piotr would have loved that track tonight! Had 2 excellent wins mid meeting but is never a rider i expect to see in the pressure heats. Was swallowed up under pressure. Good effort tho. 2.5/5 JOE - Did an excellent job in Heat 12 but 4 or 5 is the best we can hope for when there is a big scoring reserve in town. 2.5/5 TOM - Did his job and rode a good race in Heat 9 to prevent a Bees maximum. 2/5 COVENTRY Andersen - an absolute flyer in Heat 1, no idea how he got away with that! Besides his blip in Heat 11 (when trying to look after Hansen) he was pretty solid and did the business when it mattered. 4/5 Howarth - 1st meeting back from injury i hear? He may as well have waited fr his PL commitments. Awful and a bit of a liability on the bike. 0/5 Jepsen Jensen - the once golden boy of Speedway and now a pale substitute of a rider. Surprised to see him, it is summer but the pollen count was probably low today. Another that was near awful. He beat Wells and Proctor. Wow. 0.5/5 Hansen - nowhere near as prolific as last time. Was beaten up by both Proctor and Wells which sums up his evening. 1/5 Harris - an excellent night for Bomber. Good to see him on top form, shame it was against us! 4/5 Garrity - Stunning and made it look easy, and beat Proctor, Thorssell and Wells. Absolute match winner and boy can he ride Monmore! 5/5 Sarjeant - Took 3rds in all his heats so did his job. 2.5/5

JamieE
Andersen - an absolute flyer in Heat 1, no idea how he got away with that! Besides his blip in Heat 11 (when trying to look after Hansen) he was pretty solid and did the business when it mattered. 4/5 Exactly that, he was trying to do the impossible there, good on him for trying though and did a good job for us at No. 1 tonight. A very useful win against the Wolves who it looks like we're realistically in a 4 way fight with for the final play off spot (assuming Poole make it along with the nailed on King's Lynn and reasonably safe looking Lakeside - surely Poole won't miss out, will they?!). Must be hard being a Wolves fan at the moment, with some long time Wolves favourites who have done a solid job over the years now struggling in Proctor and Wells. If riders became available, that would be a tough call to make as a team boss on current form. It must be frustrating. Back to the Bees though and good to see our top 2 on their game and hitting double figures. Garrity was just brilliant and on a sensible average would be able to hold down a top 5 spot next year if the rules force him down that route. Howarth was a disaster sadly tonight, put himself in some points scoring positions and kept getting well out of shape and dropping to the back. Hope he can find some form again as he's had his moments, especially Birmingham away springs to mind. Agree with the mention of Berntzon though, he's a bargain waiting to be picked up by someone. Concerning to see Hansen struggling so much too, although I'm not really surprised. He has a good record around Brandon but it's no coincidence he was overlooked by other teams for so long. Shame as his heart really seems in the club and deserves some success. Will give MJJ the benefit of the doubt tonight as he did have some tough races and settled down to pick off the riders you'd expect him to. It felt like he was up against Woffy or Schlein all the time and on a specialist track like Wolves, it can't be easy to make much head way against riders who know the place so well. Can't afford many more scores like that from him though. Finally Sarj looked back to his pre-injury form, steadily going about his business to score probably more than you could expect him too. Good job Edited July 7, 2014 by JamieE

Good job MJJ had no problem getting around Monmore in the past. You need him to be beating the heat leaders (the reason he was signed on a low average) if the Bees are to be contenders this season. Wolves have frustrated all season long, so i`m not even thinking about our chances making the top 4 anymore.
speedybee
Just home from a cracking meeting, almost as good as the away victory at Wimborne Rd.. Bees really should have had more, dropping at least 6 or 7 points when well placed.. Howarth twice dropped points when in key positions, Hansen likewise by drifting out too wide when most of the grip was inside off turns 2 and 4, MJJ gated like a rocket and controlled the first bend in Heat 3 before it was called back after Schlein slipped off and he also lost his place to Schlein in Heat 5 and Thorsell in Heat 8. But let's not split hairs. A masterful performance from a lively Bomber who got better as the night went on and a couple of key rides from Hans. And then that man Garrity.. what can you say! Some tremendous racing and so many overtakes I lost count. I wish racing was this exciting at Brandon!

shinyhine
How come garrity never got 7 rides ? We could have lost a meeting that we did eventually win that our top 3 was excellent and you can't fault out team for effort
Bee 26
The racing last night was brilliant, the track was set up lovely, not over watered and just the right amount of dirt. Our middle order was poor last night, MJJ looks half throttle all the time. Makes fast starts then eases off! I'm sure Fisher would have scored more last night Not sure what all the hype was over Hansen at the start of season. Can't remember the last time he won a race. Howarth came back from injury too early by looking at him last night, had a few good meetings towards the start of season but is now struggling big time. westhamboy66
Amazing that Garrity can perform like this rather than the rubbish he serves up for his parent club Rye House. Seems he uses his decent equipment for Coventry and the stuff from the scrap heap at Rye. Doubt he will be at Coventry next year more likely Wolverhampton as he wont be loaned out again. Crazy robin
Happy days! Why hasn't Rosco picked Garrity in the GB squad? Don't think Garrity would be riding against FDR who are nowhere as good or experienced as him or 2nd strings like Proctor, Wells & Thorsell somehow & he's not as good as the riders Rosco has picked. He rides against better riders in the Premier Lge might be a reason as well.
