Shadders
That's good to hear - maybe it's blowing the other way (?). Btw I'm only 1/2 mile from Showground entrance - funny old weather! Suddenly become quite dark overhead
crazyb
TRAVEL ADVICE Tuesday July 08, 2014 PETERBOROUGH are urging supporters to allow extra time for their journeys to the East of England Showground tonight (Tuesday). The 'TC Harrison' Panthers' clash against Rye House in the Premier League starts at 7.30pm - the same time as the annual Race for Life event at nearby Ferry Meadows. Heavy traffic is expected in and around Oundle Road. http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/news.php?extend.2207 Ouch - That's the A605, the road that you turn-off to go into the stadium complex I bet nobody from Peterborough Speedway will be down at Ferry Meadows advertising tonights meeting. I have never seen a poster anywhere this season (or the last few season's to be correct) Somebody should be down there tonight to find out how many people know that speedway exists (just) at the showground. Bet not ten per cent would know
PE7Panther
Hmmm.... I just left Ferry Meadows and drove past the EoES entrance and it's deffo raining. Not enough to flood the track - so I'm still optimistic
yahoho
Im approx 100meters from the track, give or take - its def. raining quite hard now. Doesnt look like stopping any time soon...

Bet not ten per cent would know There were only a handful of people there an hour ago when we were down at Ferry Meadows - and that was just before the rains came. There's probably even less since it started piddling down. But I agree that they should do more about promoting/advertising Panthers speedway. And yes it might be worth trying something at Ferry Meadows when it's busy, like at weekends. Maybe a van, a stand, a bike, a rider....and even a large video screen to show newbies what it's all about.

yahoho
Still raining, but they have committed now havent they! We shall see how it holds up! Bring your coats! Also for anyone looking at touching Oundle Road / A650 - it is very, very, very busy. If you are coming from the A1 then you will probably miss most of it (I suggest taking the Alwalton turnoff instead of the main one with the services if you dont do that allready, and those coming from anywhere else, stay on the parkways until the very last minute! DO NOT COME THROUGH TOWN!

Shadders
Thankfully we waited in the car park until I saw people leaving. Unfortunately the £1 car park charge is non refundable. Long way to come for a Harvester Waited & let us in late - Took my money, 15mins later called it off - that's not onSat in the car park since about 6.45 and there was no way this was going ahead. The rain wasn't heavy, but it was steady. Wasted petrol and car park charge, but managed to place some bets on the way up which more than paid for tonight's fuel and the weekend jaunt to Cardiff too!!And to think we moan at Silver for calling meetings off too early!! Shadders
i can see Len cashing in on him next season, and I don't blame himOne thing you can't blame Silver for is the shocking attitude of Jason Garrity. Since he's been whopping NL ass in the "Elite" League he's become Billy big bollo*ks. The writing was on the wall when he decided he didn't want to attend Rye House press & practice on the Friday lunchtime, because Coventry had theirs in the evening. He only turned up because he was told if he didn't he'd not be riding for anyone because he's a Rye House asset. He then turned up, changed into his kevlars for photos, then sodded off back to the Midlands. The Sky Sports Garrity love in at the British Final would've inflated his ego to such an extent I'm surprised he can find a helmet to fit.
