11.45am on the day of the meeting, and not a single piece of advertising for tonight's meeting. I can't even find anything on the so called marvellous Facebook, so I guess it's little wonder the public are lower in numbers than what they might be!!

There is mention however on the King's Lynn website (thanks Marc), and these are the expected line-ups

.

King’s Lynn ‘Fusion Clothing’ Young Stars

1. Chris Widman (G), 2. Kyle hughes R/R, 3. James Cockle, 4. Marc Owen, 5. Darren Mallett, 6. Josh Bailey, 7. Scott Campos

Coventry City Gearboxes Storm

1. Oliver Greenwood, 2. Luke Crang, 3. Stefan Nielsen, 4. Dan Greenwood, 5. Dan Halsey, 6. Ryan Terry-Daley, 7. Martin Knuckey

There is also a Midland Development League match between the two clubs, but once again, I can find no mention or team line-ups for this meeting.

Very urgent - our texter has had to pull out of texting from this meeting due to technical issues so is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the Updates site?

If so, could you please send me a private message including your mobile number.

Thanks

  • A very good nights racing this, which took place in front of one of the lowest crowds I can ever remember seeing at a speedway track. No quarter was asked, and no quarter was given, and the entire evening was a joy to behold. Well done too to the travelling support from Coventry, who possibly outnumbered the locals. It would seem that your journey was a nightmare, especially at the Midlands end of the A14, yet you had no thought on giving up your journey and battled on through. We had a Music Festival going on in King's Lynn, but I wouldn't have thought this would have had such a detrimental affect on any would be home support. Attendances generally at King's Lynn for National League meetings are not the best, to say the least, but this one must have been soul destroying for everyone. If I was a rider, I wouldn't want to put my life on the line to entertain so few, such a shame for all those who put in so much hard work, only to be rewarded with virtually nothing. When I ask King's Lynn supporters at Elite League meetings why they don't come to see the 'Young Stars' on the odd occasion when we have a meeting, and they for the most part say, "Oh that crap, we don't like NL racing, it's Elite League or nothing for us". That's a lot of bollocks, as I see a great many of those very same people on a Sunday watching National League meetings at Mildenhall, so who do they really support? So thanks once again to the riders who gave us few so much enjoyment. Commiserations to King's Lynn who gave it 100%, including guest Chris Widman, and congratulations to Coventry on a well deserved win, with what is a very powerful and impressive septet. Finally, well done too to presenter Matt Black, who was in a position to speak over the tannoy to people in the crowd on a one-to-one basis, with there being so few. His banter with announcer Kevin Moore was at times hilarious, and even had referee Barbara Horley out of her seat laughing. Top job Matt, in trying to add that extra bit of fun flavour to an otherwise atmosphere lacking evening on the terraces. And a final final final well done to Buster, for providing a race surface second to none. Oh I forgot, I actually saw Laurence Rogers smile last night, which is very unusual, as he normally rents his choppers (teeth out young lady!!) out on a Friday and weekends.

Sadly Mike we could not be there last night. Friday night is a bad night for us.

Doesn't help having an EL meeting two nights earlier. Absolutely no disrespect to any rider but if an attractive team is tracked people will be more inclined to come and watch.....Cockle, Mallett , Campos and an inadequate guest for Lewis (again no disrespect to Widman who no doubt rode his socks off) won't pull the punters in however much they want to see Bailey & Owen develop. Last night looked a total mismatch on paper and so it eventually proved, could have been 60 if Crang had performed to his usual level.

Up until the last few heats there was hardly anything in it. In fact if RTD hadn't woken up in heat 9, KL could have taken the lead!

The score looked a bit deceiving with KL losing it in the last 3 heats.

Some decent races towards the end of the meeting. Track was unfortunately inconsistent at the start of the meeting resulting in a few iffy moments and strung out races. Once the track got sorted out it was probably one of the better meetings in terms of racing that I've seen at Lynn at NL level.

Mr Mungo ....got the wind (repeating on you !!) LOL ...and Mr Moseley I am always smiling!! Also have you got the times for MDL as never have time to hear them (or are actually bothered really!!)

If you're not bothered about the times you old buggar, why do you want them?:rofl:;)

Heat 1 = 65.00 Heat 2 = 66.82 Heat 3 = 67.19 Heat 4 = 64.56 Heat 5 = 65.18 Heat 6 = Race Awarded

As you haven't got far to travel tonight, will you have time to check out the query I spoke to you about last night please?

As Castleford v Stoke was rained-off last night, will it be restaged on the 9th July when the Scunthorpe (PL) meeting has been rescheduled?

Cheers

Mike

Mr s1. You can only pick upto the average that Lewis had as he has not yet got a new average. We picked the best guest that was avaliable on that average. Chris did his level best for us but if course we missed a rider that is averaging 10 plus but only has a 6 plus average as far as a guest is concerned. Hope that explains.
