Eastbourne V King's Lynn 05/07/14

After our first pointless meeting at Swindon tonight can the Stars get back into the groove in Sussex? Michelsen & Porsing are presumably racing in the World U21 Team Cup Final so two guests will be required and probably a third for the unfit Lewis Rose.

lol.....they can ride with as much freedom and expression as they like but unless they make the gate they won't see the Stars for dust...

Hope the track is better than the Sky match this week - it looked more like a dusty moto-cross track! On 2nd thoughts Lewis Kerr might like it

This will be my first time at Arlington to watch the Stars since the title decider in 2000 which was strongly influenced by Mr Gay, although I did visit in 2008 for Eagles v Poole while staying in the area. Always enjoy following the Stars away from home wherever it is, unfortunately it is much more difficult in the EL with most matches midweek.

Michelsen and Porsing are not involved in the u21 team semi on Saturday as Denmark are seeded to the Danish staged final.

I thought this was going to be our hardest match this week, struggling to get a point from every fixture. But after last night that has all gone out of the window.

Hoping the lads can re-group to impose themselves on a tight track. and get a point at least, but it won't be easy.......

When you are that far ahead at the top of the top of the table a couple of losses don't matter especially when table position doesn't matter as long as you're in the top 4.

Absolutely. The only negative about that is you need to be peaking and showing you can win home and away come September.

Otherwise early season good form means absolutely zero.

As long as the stars finish on top of the league come September I for one will be happy! Rory looks in great form, just need the others to back him up!

That means nothing if they don't win the play offs tho!

Finishing top means nothing.

I seriously still cant see any team beating the Stars over 2 legs.

Finishing top means a great deal actually. You get the pick of the 3 remaining PlayOff rivals. Can make a significant difference

Poole were clear leaders in 2010 (17 points clear at the top) , it was the team that was peaking and in form that won the title.

You can pick who you like but if you aren't in form come September you win zero.

They're all in good form, Rory had a great meeting last night although he couldn't quite keep it up til the end. We wouldn't be where we are without them all riding to their best the majority of the time?

I guess in one way it's good to lose as it makes you regroup and more determined not to let a good thing go. Our boys have clearly worked hard all year for glory, they will not let it go to pot now I'm sure ..... COME ON!!!

AND COME ON FANS, SHOW SOME APPRECIATION,THAT'S APPRECIATION ;-)

PS clearly I have too much time on my hands this week being off work but people go into your local Tesco and see if they have reduced the England footy stuff, they have some white horns which would be great to give out to all the kids at Lynn, then they can make some noise for free ;-)

Happened to us in 2007 in the PL, finished top but lost in the Play Off semis. At least we had the consolation of winning the cup and premier trophy but losing the league hurt. Would be the same this year if we finish top but will take a lot of pride and satisfaction from our performances and seeing our younger riders develop enormously. Edited by Gordon Bennett
