Rye House V Workington... 5th July, 7pm

Recommended Posts

Get battering the fish I'm planning my first visit to the Launchpad of Dreams.

Looking forward to a warm can of beer, tiddler and chips and a long and drawn out three hour meeting.

Can't wait...I really don't understand why the crowds are dropping over in Hoddesdon?

As it happens the racing isn't to bad, infact quite good, but everything, else well.............and meeting usually over by about 9ish Edited by Dave Stummings

Well the drink and food is optional so don't have it

With one or two exceptions, mainly due to the poor refs the fifteen heats are general done in under two hours which should be the case due to the dodgy weather and thats average, the racing beats the Elite rubbish at Lakeside so rather than listen to the perennial moaners give it a chance. You may come away surprised that it was a decent nights entertainment and happy in the knowledge that unlike some other tracks the riders will be paid

But it's against an NL standard team tonight.

Scored well down there a couple off weeks ago as well but National league standard is a bit harsh there are some good riders in that Rye team i think it may be they are more demoralised by the looks off it.

How will Len sugarcoat this....

There really is no sugar coating this. Tonight was an embarrassment for the home promotion and there is no wonder the loyal Rockets fans are becoming restless. How you can run a fish bar with no mushy peas is beyond me. Come on Len, give the crowd what they want.

The whole promotion failed tonight. Team were shambles. Two '0's from tactical rides. Even Lambert beats Boxall to win a heat when he couldn't win a raffle for us. The stat line official cocked up the tapes so much he had to go onto the track during a race to rescue them. When he got them twisted up for about the 7th time (I wasn't counting) he got stick from the spectators and turned and sweared at them. No apology from Len could placate then dwindling 200ish crowd. The end is very near.

Looks NL to me.

Bowen, Greaves, Garrity (NL draft), Boxall, Neilsen.

Bunyan - not much more than NL heat leader now.

Kennett - dropping so many points everywhere now.

Cradley would have a good chance at home against that lot.

Sorry to hear how bad it's got.

My only visit this year - peterborough - was bad enough for presentation & atmosphere.

Must be impossible now.

The Worky fans created the only atmosphere I've heard at Rye this year. They were having a great time!!
