MD
Would like to see the Spring Trophy dropped and replaced with Scottish Cup for the start of season meetings. Recent years Scottish Cup has been pathetic with both teams made up of guests. Drop both of them, they are no longer wanted. It would be refreshing not to see the Mon's until May in the early season trophy then only once more in the league. In fact it would be better to only meet them once full stop. Monarchlad
A link about Monarchs started by Paulco, with every man and his dog who don't like Cookie......having a negative opinion .......what a surprise........some people are so paranoid ........best rider in the league, and by the way you can't compare any team from different years.......yes I watched the great Newcastle team, yes I'm watching the good Monarchs....and yes they have not won anything yet......PUT remember they have gone the first 23 matches of a season, without a lose, no othe r team have done that, If I remember AE was not from the start of the season.....but really, who cares Monarchs are still on a Roll, 23 and counting.......sent from Cyprus

We're into potato croquet country now . I actually started that thread as a tribute to the Monarchs' achievement , comparing them to the best 2nd tier side in the last 25 years . But hey hoh .
SCOTLAND1314
Interesting to just hear on Edinburgh Monarch's speedway podcast that Cookie's machinery had a cracked manifold (on Sunday), which makes his heat 15 performance even more incredible. Maybe the cracked manifold was on his first bike, he changed bikes during the meeting, and it was repaired for Ht 15.

cyclone
Did he not ride a bike without luminous wheels in his second ride? Do not recall this and the DVD of the meeting would confirm this. All Craig's bikes, including his back up machines, are kitted out in the same livery, including neon yellow rimmed wheels. If it was the case that he appeared in his second ride on different bike attire, perhaps he borrowed a team mate's bike at short notice ?
