fred
Read how good the track was last week but the track prep today is poor! Go round and round with the wonder wheel drying the track out even more then what little water there is put on the track by time it takes to get next race started the track has already dried out and back to same old clouds of dust! Bagpuss
A moral victory for the Tigers I'd suggest. The Monarchs two top scorers can count themselves a little unlucky not to be selected for heat 15, nearly backfired it seems.
lucifer sam
Well done to Glasgow for regaining some pride this afternoon, by pushing the Monarchs all the way. Meanwhile, both the Edinburgh juggernaut and the smugness rolls on.... I wonder what Blobby will count on now he's run out of fingers and toes All the best Rob

Gazc
Was pretty enjoyable today but not reaching the heights of last week but well done to Edinburgh on another victory they really are a top side , we so nearly snatched a point and could have been even better for us but a couple of decisions went against us today. Heat 15 Wolbert & Rusty on a 5 1 to take the draw Cook comes storming under Rusty on the last lap and Rusty then trying to go back round Cook on the last bend to take the draw but runs out off room and slides into the air fence hard move by Cook but fair and the chance of a draw went out the window there and then. There will not be many if any other teams will take the win against us round our own patch if we ride like we did today and we will not face a team with the quality the Monarchs have every week so not all doom & gloom BTW Thought Rusty was absolutely outstanding today how his average has dropped to 5.5 riding like that is bizarre he should be one off the first on the team sheet next season if possible. screm
It may be through gritted teeth but you have to hand it to these Monarchs, but one thing, they are on this fantastic run and will probably set a new records. Does this mean they are that good or is the standard in the PL not all that clever, may be this could've been on a thread of its own. Weeyin
We so nearly got a draw, but not disheartened, the team tried their best and Rusty was fantastic, thought we might have got hammered again but we put up a great fight...The juggernaut Monarchs ride on... I do think we would have won if we had our full team though

SCOTLAND1314
Well regardless of the scoreline there could not have been anyone leaving Ashfield today who had not been entertained today. When Edinburgh Monarchs built up an early 8 point lead it had the feel of the previous slaughterings but Glasgow are a much tougher proposition these days at home. To their credit they fought back with some fine first lap passing of Worral and third lap pass on Fox and a nerve jangling 5-1 in heat 9. However, Edinburgh Monarchs managed to stretch their lead to the eventual 4 point winning margin with a ride by Max Fricke that had to be seen to be believed. Pijper popped out the start with Max closing the gap over the next two laps to then power down the back straight and somehow squeeze between Pijper and the fence and blast around him on the 3rd 4th turn to an incredible reception from the Blue and Gold on the fourth turn. It was as good a move as I've ever seen at Ashfield particularly as passing outwith lap one was at a premium. With the 4 point lead lasting until the start of heat 15 it was a surprise to me to see Cookie coming out in that heat. Cookie hadn't a great day at the office to this point (by his very high standards) and when he and his partner Max missed the gate and were watching Kevin and Rusty on a 5-1 I couldn't have argued at a 45 all draw. But Cookie had other thoughts by firstly clawing back some 20 yards on the leading pair and then to charge passed Rusty on the third lap .. an incredibly brave move as there wasn't a whole lot of room to play with. Fair play to Rusty he gave it a go on the last turn but plunged into the fence at high speed. Thankfully he got up. Speedway was the winner today. When Glasgow get Henry and Berge back they will be an even tougher proposition. Edited July 6, 2014 by SCOTLAND1314
Mr Blobby
well we certainly made that one hard for ourselves. Justin, Stevie and Max are the only people that rode to their full potential today. Derek made gates then rode in no mans land in the first and second bend every time. Aaron was lacking pace Sam and cookie couldn't gate for toffee. The only time Cookie made a gate was heat 13 and the ref pulled it back!!!! Rusty was entertaining and Maxs pass on theo was fantastic. 3 points not so bad should have taken 4 but oh well. oh by the 23 23 23 23 23 23 23 23 23 23 Don't know if i mentioned it but twenty flamin three!!!!!!
