Diamonds V Scorpions 29/6/14

BTW,,, I was very impressed with Robbo's tactic's when in front of David Howe,,, putting his front wheel over the white line to create a little dust cloud,,, a seen him get him twice in the same place on consecutive laps,,, nice move that, dunno if H&S would have owt to say about it like, lol

Was left squinting at this hammering and seriously wondered if I had it wrong and it was Stags at Rough Park. Was it the track? I find myself hoping it was as I cannot see how Scorps can do that badly?. We need to very quickly put this behind us and get back to being the top team we are. Thanks to Tommy Gun and David for giving it a go but the rest will be hurting after this crusher. Expect a response on Friday v Sheffield.

Nowt to do with the track, but some Scunny fan who wasn't there would tell you different.

Fresh shale was put on before the training school at lunchtime, and we didn't have a faller, and the Diamonds would not have a fall other than assistance from a Scunny rider. Beaten almost every time from the gate, the first corner was like formation dancing, with the inside man blocking that line and his partner taking the scenic route on the outside line and then finishing in that formation. Scunny were just never at the races, but there was some decent riding from Tommy, some from David and Ryan was as usual a handful. Birks just not on track and Josh is as always just a crash waiting to happen. Obviously he doesn't like the second bend where he usually crashes, grabbing a full throttle, lifting and causing mayhem for others around him or right behind him in the case of Kerr, who had to grasstrack to save hitting Josh or his bike.

What has happened to Nicolai. No points from home or away from beating a Diamond, he never looked like beating others. Once thing through, pleased to hear Thomas J hasn't broken anything in his wrist/hand, in addition to parking his bike in the pits rather than the second bend like last time. DVD's BTW still on sale I hear from GRT Media to check for yourselves.

Very disappointing resistance, but still some good racing, especially from Ludde  , and three very easy points.

Well maybe GRT should have words with the track shop this season as I've been about a half a dozen times now and every time I ask for any batches of 4 dvds they don't have them, I have also had mates go there too weeks when I'm not there this season and get the same results, same with the Redcar vs Newcastle dvd that Roy announced last night too!!!

you must have some hellish Talent at the training school if fresh shale was put down and no fallers

even more amazing on a track that has around 60% more fallers than anywhere else in the PL

Good effort Dave, looks like some good kids in the school

just like some big tracks, some riders are beat before they warm the bike up.... The shape of the track means you have to come off the throttle riding certain lines, for example josh auty has ridden the place umpteen times but nearly always comes down on the 2nd bend at least once a meeting, yet the likes of aaron fox who's never seen the place before can go round and pick up points, you simply can't go flat out, you have to use your loaf...

It's ok being a Scunny fan with a purpose built track with many lines.... Unfortunately with the stadium being owned by a bookie and primarily for greyhound racing there's nothing that can be done. The surface in the main has been pretty good with a few exemptions, still young riders have came and flourished over the years... Kerr and Richie to name 2 and it has been the starting point for many world class riders and indeed world champions.

Speaking to a current GP rider a few years ago he said he loved the place because it made him have to think.

We tend to have loads of muck down and it seems most riders want concrete slick roads in this day and age.... I know what I'd rather watch though.

Good riders can adapt to any track surely?.

But in your statistics, Tommy parking his bike illegally on the second bend, and your tape exclusions, count as exclusions and you blame the track FFS. In your previous meeting we had 8 exclusions(most in any meeting we have had, 8 out of 31) and your lot got 6 of them, not all falls as I have stated above. There are statistics and damn lies, and then there are your figures. :P

Yes we do. :P

You ARE joking of course.

No there hasn't - not from Lindgren anyway and THAT is a FACT.

I said in an earlier Post that Lindgren in his form on Sunday is a BRILLIANT Rider - is that praise or not? I doubt I could be more fulsome in my praise than that - do you?

I also said he didn't perform like that often enough - am I right or am I wrong?

However - I have also said that he isn't a Team Rider - and he isn't. That is all I am saying.

Opinions can also be devalued by those wearing rose coloured spectacles.

Ludde was brilliant on Sunday, shades of Rene at his best. Why praise someone and try to claim a victory for that, but then continue to knock him for everything you can think of,e.g, passing own riders, not team riding. And then the final insult that there is only YOU not using rose coloured spectacles. FFS. :nono:

Uh-oh, Tsunami will be changing the locks and forcing TWK to sleep on the streets again. :o;)

Calm down lads, you won by 45 points. If you're like this when you win, what are you like when you lose?

All the best

Rob

Exactly Rob, which is what gets on others nerves.

Scunny can't be this bad again, and sorry to see Ash riding so bad. He is a great lad, with great perception and respect for fans and sponsors, and IMO a credit to the sport. HalifaxTiger was at the meeting when he got hurt last year, and it is great to see him back after such horrific injuries. World of difference though between Ask and Josh though.

Scunny will get over this one, even on worse tracks than our superb track. ;)

Thank you for this really appreciate your summary of things and clearly not so much the track; rather we lost out to a Diamonds team who really wanted it more. It is all about confidence this game; and if you have any hang ups about the track you can soon run into problems against a team going into it with a 'clear head'. It is a bit concerning to go there with a full team and be hammered like this!. The 15 heat race format can sometimes paper over what has been a complete trouncing.

Convert this forty five point reverse to 'old currency' -13 heat format and there's no escape this is the equivalent of a 61-17 pasting the sort of pan handling the Saints came in for back in 1972. As I say; when I looked for the score I thought we had sent the Stags up instead (and that's not meant to be disrespectful to the Stags)

It is really hard to fathom how we can have let ourselves down like this; NiK-Josh-Ryan-Ash could muster no more than 6 points between them!. I think we would all have to agree that these are quality speedway riders capable of posting double figure scores so to see this outcome will be a shock to Scorps fans. Certain that Rob and team will be getting together and ironing out the cracks for Friday v Sheffield.

Thanks again and fair play to the Diamonds. For sure it is a blow but we will be back.
