I'm a lapsed speedway fan who went regularly to Plough Lane in the 1970s. I'm looking for Wimbledon's home results in June 1977. I've looked on the net but no joy so I thought that I would ask here. Any help or information would be gratefully received and thanks in advance.

Another question for anyone with a really good memory. I remember that Wimbledon had two "number 8s" who rarely if ever rode for the first team but rode in the second half. One was called Brendan Shilletto? Was there another one and what was his name?

and Larry was second!

That White City match; was that when Mike Patrick took that famous award-winning picture?

Thanks so much Iris123 and Chunky.

Do you have any more memories of the Internationale? I'm sure I was at it and bits are coming back.

Am I right in thinking we had a league double-header with White City in 1977 where we rode there in the afternoon and then back to PL in the evening? I'm guessing that was on a bank holiday.

I had a friend who used to try to pretend to be Brendan Shilleto to impress girls. It didn't really work.

My first Internationale was in 1973 and it was quite a shock just how big a meeting it was.The cars were parking half way down Blackshaw Rd!!!!!Then when i got to the stadium i couldn't believe how big the queue to get in was.Think by '77 they weren't parking any where near so far down Blackshaw Rd and the stadium queues weren't as big.It was a marker for me that speedway was on the slide(no pun intended). Can just imagine in those early years of the meeting the queues were even bigger as they were in '73.......

Where as you on the other hand can sit there in Germany just sniping at everyone and every thing

Oh deary me.

Someone asked for help and i have tried to give some.Answered the results question and gave one memory of the Internationale. At the beginning of the 70s it was a massive meeting.By the 80s i think it was finished wasn't ?I was truely surprised at just how big the crowd was for that first one i went to.Not sure what the problem is in mentioning that?
