Berwick Vs Edinburgh 12/8 Live On Sky

Recommended Posts

Yep, I think the poster comments are fair enough.

I'm sure it is something that will have been listened to.

What about the tractors and the flags then?

I can admit when I wrong, can others on here?

Dunno about flags, as long the tractors we use are set up properly, and they continue to improve on all of the previous mistakes on track preperation. perhaps a lick of paint in The Billy livery would be an improvement esthetically.

Yep, I think everything is fine in that department too.

Old Billy is showing his age, like the rest of us!

Good point, though it wouldn't exactly make for good tv with the kind of hammerings Edinburgh have been handing out at home this season.

Don't they now, I take it the New Holland flags that were hanging from the floodlight pylons will now be a regular feature, haven't seen them so far this season. I take it the couple of new tractors that graded the track last night will be there each and every week from now on. Not a fan of the pipes and drums myself but they will be attending all the meetings from now till the end of the season, to the best of my recollection they haven't been to a PL meeting so far this season, and the posters, anyone going into the club shop for their free Berwick v Somerset poster so the could cover the Borders would've come out empty handed. We even had the little cart that normally does the white line on the inside of the track doing the lines at the starting gate.

All of the above great ideas, and I`m not knocking any of them or the kind of meeting the promotion put on last night, and its perfectly sensible for the club to make every effort to put on the best show possible, which they did, but to suggest its more or less the same as any other week is rather silly.

Forgot to say, PLEASE PLEASE no more cat strangling bands :shock:

If you want that type of stuff, be respectful and remember Berwick upon Tweed is in Northumberland, so bring along The Kathryn Tickel band on the Northumbrian pipes.:wink:

Hang on, one of our merry troupe was telling me only the other night he could've get enough of them as it took him back to when he was a younger man when he would march behind them. :o

Have to admit to having never seen it, I live a sheltered life :D

Try watching an episode Eddie. I think it is quite funny. I's a bit rude in parts - but it makes me laugh anyway. :t:

OK, so the question to be asked is, where did the big crowd -- and it was a big crowd -- all come from on a Tuesday night?

Obviously not to see big tractors, excellent New Holland banners or listen to a good pipe band -- although these things all helped the sense of occasion once folk were in.

Was it a big crowd because of the novelty of the off-night, the Sky presence or maybe the £10 deal?

Or the posters?

Any thoughts?

£10 deal possibly big factor, opposition being top of the league making it an attractive match.Bandits showing good form.Neutrals taking in an attractive fixture,BigEddie bringing all his friends.
