Berwick Vs Edinburgh 12/8 Live On Sky

Recommended Posts

I didnt think it'd take long for our Weegie chums George & Mr Paulco to come out the woodwork and bask in someone elses glory..

Excuse me Sir!

Where have I "basked" exactly? ;)

... and as for coming out of woodwork, where have you been recently ... your presence missed on here mucho!

I was at Swindon v Poole on the eve of the 2012 Cardiff GP, can't remember many genuine passes. It was pretty dull for the class of rider on show

So was I and it was a poor meeting ...not sure what it has to do tonight nights match being poor thou ? unless you reckon that was decent tonight of course ?

Glad to be of service gents, delighted that the exploits successful or otherwise of the Monarchs attracts the time and attention of so many non Edinburgh fans.

Many thanks for the compliments and concern, you would be most welcome at Armadale to see us in the flesh any Friday.

Dont rise to it , predictable from Elite Leaguers

Don't bite !

Well, this Elite Leaguer enjoyed it a lot. The best Speedway meetings by a mile this year on Sky have been the PL meetings. I'm so bored with the gates were doctored, bad decision SH!te..:P It was a good meeting and oh my, I know they described the track as fast, but it came across as that too..Brilliant!

I love the passion and true grit showed tonight, not a hint of arrogance in interviews either.

Well done Berwick. Best wishes to Whethers, that crash was horrific!

I am obviously 1 of very few but I thought that was an enjoyable meeting but all thoughts right now go to Matthew Wethers. Left me breathless. I actually couldn't believe it andmI'm sure others had fears of the outcome.

And also a speedy recovery to young Aaron Fox too.

I didnt think it'd take long for our Weegie chums George & Mr Paulco to come out the woodwork and bask in someone elses glory..still it's been slim pickings for your lot for years now so pretty predictable really :P Well done to Berwick on their win in the end.Poor choice to put Cookie in gate one in Ht15 i thought, but our management get it right more often than not so we'll let them off this time.Have to say,and i keep on hoping the racing will improve at Shielfield, but FTG,FTG,FTG etc etc ad nauseum seems to be the norm whenever i've visited..honest question to my Bandit brother & sisters as a speedway fan..How the hell can you watch that guff every week?I'm sorry but four gadges going really fast with virtually no passing doesn't make it for me at all.Fair play for going, but the Berrington Polo Mint at least delivered exciting racing.Anyways all thoughts with Matty and Aaron (Fox not summers ya baloon Pearson  ) Horrible spill and i hope both are ok.Cheers :t:

I can think of half a dozen passes tonight. There was also plenty of close races. Berwick is a very fast track and there isn't much we can do about the shape because is it round a football pitch which isn't going to move. It would be brilliant to have a purpose built track of our own, but in this day and age there are very few councils who would pass planning permission for a track, certainly not the one in Berwick. So it is Shielfield or nothing. Not that I am complaining because there has been some very good racing there this season.

Pretty decent meeting ? bar the score there was about 1 pass ? this IS what I was on about how people big up PL speedway

As a TV spectacle the best part was the adverts.

In particular the advert for "Wash and Go" now renamed ...

"Gate and Go".

1 thing I miss greatly from our Premier League days is the pride and effort shown by the riders whereas now it a case of race, win, trundle back to pits, fook the fans

Not so sure about that . I was on the first bend , at Kings Lynn , with the Leicester fans the other week . And at the end of the meeting the Leicester riders to a man came out on the track and applauded their fans . Mind you they are newbies to that level

Firstly hope both Matty and Aaron are not to badly hurt after that horrific crash.I think Berwick should have swapped reserves in heats 7 and 8 Kus had more chance of beating Worrall than Edberg then Edberg would have more chance of beating Sneddon. Also agree about heat 14 Kus for Edberg but Edinburgh also should have saved the second T/R for Cookie in heat 11 maybe both team managers made clangers tonight.Hope Jensen and Edberg get themselves sorted out for Saturday cant afford any to carry anyone.

Thought the racing was better than usual tonight, although the Sky cameras probably made it look better than watching from the back straight. There were quite a few passes after bend 2 lap 1, the pick being Vissing inside Masters in heat 6.

Monarchs did well to make a last heat decider out of that and probably deserved a point but, oh my word. what a horrible sickening crash in heat 14. Didn't really care about the score after that....best wishes to Matty & Aaron.

I'm curious, are the Monarchs the PL version of Poole...?

They're not liked and are apparently arrogant. But they don't break rules left right and centre.

And there promoter has been BSPA chairman the last 5 years and has failed badly. in the future I'm sure we'll look back on the last few years as some of the weakest managed and most corrupt in a long time.
