sparkafag
As much as it's good to see more premier league on sky the downside is it will be a normal Berwick gate and go meeting with riders spread out the length of the straight. Edinburgh away from home was always going to happen with the form they are in but why not somewhere like Somerset like last season Team with the best gaters on the night will win like any other Berwick home meeting. Which is sad for the fans They could have shown Edinburgh at home and we would have all had the chance to relive that Speedway classic served up from there on Sky a few years ago But it seems we never will as Sky haven’t shown an interest in returning to the racing mecca that is Armadale, second visit in two years to Berwick though. screm
Well said,it's interesting to see those who DONT post when the subject is looking dodgy for the Promotion. That would never happen surely.
bigeddiechek
I never find it short of breath-taking the amount of posts on this forum - in general - that are purely having a pop at the various teams' promotion. We should look at ourselves. A newcomer in the past year has commented "Why do people come to the speedway and just moan about it?".I couldn't answer the question. Lucky the Bandits 2012 group stand next to us and he joins in with them and has a great night. Maybe long-term exposure to the fumes turn folk into self important, fault finding, moaning barstewards?
Chris Hutcheson
Thats not really correct though is it, you should maybe watch Berwick on a more regular basis. I would rather watch racing at Shielfield than Armadale where you see heatleaders reeled in and passed by reserves just because they cant negotiate the trick track, so boring. Surely then the heat leaders need to up their game and not get passed by a reserve, or even better, figure a way to re-pass the reserve? Why not just race in a straight line on a carpet? BBSC
When the Berwick track is properly prepared it can provide close racing and passing, at the same time a lot of top riders who can gate unless they make a mistake or an engine failure normally win there races, Over the last few seasons we have been spoilt with riders like complin, clews, mudga, and this season steen who had / have the b**ls to attempt tp pass the opposition riders. Can't remember reading many complaints about last seasons sky meeting, so hopefully this meeting will be as good as if not better than what we witnessed last season.

I guess if anyone has a right to vent a bit of frustration, it's those guys. It's also fair to say they give their support - and their criticisms - in real life, rather than the more feeble whom are only capable of doing so within the safe haven of the t'Internet. crescent girl
From last night's e-Newsletter: With this being a special weeknight event, the club will be reducing admission prices across the board to a flat £10 for all adults, with children up to sixteen entering free as usual. We will be pushing the boat out on August 12th, making every effort to put on the best-possible show at the best-possible price and building on Sky Sports' belief in our abilities to provide the company with what they said they were so happy with last time -- a big attendance, our clean and bright stadium, crisp presentation and close racing. As we have done for other big events, we will have a supply of posters and fliers in the Track Shop -- hopefully from Saturday forwards -- for everyone and anyone to pick up and stick up, all over the area! With reduced admission, and the Monarchs back in town, this televised speedway feast has to be made available to everyone, in and out of town!

One would like to believe that Berwick would make "every effort to put on the best possible show" for each and every meeting staged at Shielfield.
