All the best Rob Yeah but he paid for adverts, paid over the odds for riders, paid for team managers, technical gurus etc. He just threw away money. I have heard things which I can't repeat on a public forum Surely everyone realises by now, every time Philips opened his mouth, it was a lie, if he told me it was raining, I would need to check for myself because i certainly wouldnt believe anything he told me. Like you say 400k over 2 years is a mind blowing figure, and would average out at about 10k per meeting over 2 years. I ask you this, as an accountant would you allow that to continue for so long ? with little or no prospect of ever getting it back i think we all know the answer to that one. What i cannot understand is why on earth did he not sell up at the end of last season ? unless there were already debts which were being covered up. Whatever the closure of the Brummies as i see it is down to 1 man and 1 man alone, and thats Alan Philips. JJ, yes you can, just put allegedly in front of what you say. high edge
Not all down to Alan Phillips he is to genuine a man ask why Grahame left so suddenly even taking the kettle out of the office.Ask why Tony refused to help out, there are a lot of things i don't know the answers to.,and did anyone notice i was the only team manager not to be interviewed. on sky when it was rained off against Swindon .Being involved in the Elite league opened my eyes after twenty years in the national league non off them work together for the good of the sport they are all for themselves.Don't blame Alan Phillips for what happened to Birmingham it was not all his doing he inherited a poor team low on team spirit which improved as we got to know one another, but by then the crowd had dropped because of poor results only the great hard core fans stayed with us.Alan spent a great deal of money bringing Bartosz Zmarzlik over and was then let down by the rider after two meetings reporting to be ill. That was i big disappointment as he was a very nice guy to deal with. That and the Sky rain off the way we were ignored that night .and other problems not all of our makings put the nails in the Birmingham coffin.I hope who ever brings the Brummies back have more luck Alan was in my opinion to nice a guy to run a speedway. Or maybe Drury left as he wasn't being paid? Or didn't like how the club was being run? I'm far form being Graham Drurys biggest fan but it strikes me that allowed to do his job he runs an efficient club but takes no messing. But I guess if the messing is coming from the top and you can't sack them, you have to go yourself. As for Zmarzlik, I guess if a rider doesn't get paid, he doesn't turn up. Right? high edge
Dont know if Grahame was or not being paid,i know Alan always paid me ,and riders where paid for home meetings weekly.I see you are guessing if Zmarzlik was paid. Do you honestly think Alan would spend almost 3 grand to get him here then not pay im i think your guessing wrong
uk_martin
If Zmarzlik was on a one month contract would he have been paid on the drip, week by week or meeting by meeting, or would he have been paid at the end of the month for the entire month's work? I have my own experience of how well people were being paid by the Philips regime, so nothing would surprise me about it.

Jack, your loyalty to your former employer is admirable and I respect you for that and your time serving The Brummies, but to be fair you joined RMS BRUMMIES after the ship hit the iceberg and started to take on water. Please answer these questions - 1: why did Phil Morris resign? 2: why did Joe Mac resign? 3: why did Doyle say "anyone but Birmingham" 4: why were you appointed team manager when nobody in the Elite League or Premier League would touch the club with a bargepole? (no offence intended) 5: why did Tony Mole and Phil Morris run a mile after trying their best to save the club? and the most shameful IMO - why are a registered charity - The Saint Johns Ambulance owed 2.5K ? (according to the administrators) I don't blame Drury for taking the Kettle! Edited September 12, 2014 by BeoBrummie

semion
To be fair to Jack, he cannot be expected to be in a postion to answer questions, where he as little to no knowledge. After all the guy was only a paid employee. The way I read it is the guy is saying from his prospective Phillips played a straight bat with him. I guess Jack can only speak as he finds.
