stevebrum
From BSPA site: THE British Speedway Promoters’ Association can confirm tonight’s Poole v Birmingham Elite League meeting WILL go ahead as planned at Wimborne Road. Representatives of the BSPA are currently in dialogue with relevant parties with the sole aim of ensuring the continuation of the sport at Perry Barr Stadium. Very sad news. But Phillips has been hinting this has been a near formality for quite a while now. Get behind your team if you want it to stay folks!
Steve0
the SOLE aim? suggests at any cost.. ie a cheap team that won't be competitive...hmm. i suppose if it means they get thru season...but can only see more fans gving it a miss They already have a cheap team! TheScotsman
Watching the "action" on bet365.................. ......... fell asleep after heat 5. Is it always this BORING at Poole? Even the tractors have stopped racing.
mdmc82
Same here. Have seen better racing at Poole. Both teams just look like going through the motions, no real excitement
SCB
TBF, the Poole riders are half a lap ahead. If the Brimingham riders are not going to turn up what do you expect them to do?
markyb
So what sort of crowd tonight ? Even Matt Ford giving "fans" 10 quid to attend rather than charging them 10 quid may have more suitable. British speedway is in a right mess ! Time for a shake up at the highest level and do something major (but sensible too) IMO there needs to be major scrutiny of how the Poles run their speedway. A defined race night and a squad system - why can't it operate in the uk. Fans being cheated left right and centre. Not so many years ago where I witnessed Coventry away at Peterborough where Cov had Hancock, Hamill, Richardson (rip) and Jonsson and that was regular sort of team for uk supporters - nowadays we lucky to have just one star performer in a team. So sorry to have hijacked this Poole message board, but hey it affects all of us as speedway supporters. Let's hope for "happy days" M

broadsider 55
Suppose they had the option to call it off?Well just got in from the meeting have to say is was as bad as some of you who have been watching it on 365 have said , the worst part for me is they just couldn't be arsed to water the track it was like a dust bowl from heat 1, this im afraid is not acceptable as the forcast for this week was sunny till at least Thursday, , very poor track prep yet again MF come on get a grip man
lionheart
Suppose they had the option to call it off? It would only have been called off if Lord Fraud could see there was a chance that the Pirates would be beaten. With this sad Brummies team there was no chance of that
Brummie Kev
Its hard to criticize the team tonight, it was clear before the match we were so much weaker without Bart and Dan and given the events today I suppose we should be grateful a Brummies team even rode. BSPA are paying the riders for tonight and will do up at Belle Vue on Monday, hopefully a takeover can happen before the Leicester meeting.

mdmc82
Feel for Birmingham tonight. They were always going to lose against a full strength Poole side when they had to put out a PL side tonight. What happened to Ford "not wanting to rob the paying public?" mdmc82
Maybe that's why he has reduced admission? Yet cancelled a meeting last year when he had 1 rider missing. Surely he could have just reduced the admission then as well?

marko
The Elite league is full of guests and rider replacement this season and they should have seen it coming with all the double uppers and fast track riders etc. It ends up being one select team vs another select team, did not watch the action tonight so no idea on the crowd but never good for anyone's business when the away team is so poor on paper. Starman2006
Well just got in from the meeting have to say is was as bad as some of you who have been watching it on 365 have said , the worst part for me is they just couldn't be arsed to water the track it was like a dust bowl from heat 1, this im afraid is not acceptable as the forcast for this week was sunny till at least Thursday, , very poor track prep yet again MF come on get a grip man Couldn't be arsed to water the track. Bowser apon bowser was poured on to the track all day. Gerrald wanted to put a bit of water down, but was told not to.. I do hope that answers your question.. Maybe that's why he has reduced admission? This is one of several occasions that Matt has made the generous offer to rejuce admission. At the time of going to press, he had no idea that Zumarilik was not going to show, or Nermark was going to break a finger. Or sadly for Birminghams fans the club are in the financial position they are in. Tell me, what club do you support, if you support one, and have your promotion done the same thing? I await you reply with baited breath.. Edited June 25, 2014 by Starman2006
