Lakeside V King's Lynn 20th June 2014

Recommended Posts

R/R confirmed for Davey Watt, hope his back gets better soon, he was a great guest for the Stars earlier this season.

Big losses for both sides now, a hard meeting to call indeed and should be nice and close. Would love for the Stars run to continue but realistically think we'll come away with point thanks to Niels banging in another big score.

I think R/R at short notice is probably a good shout and hopefully Lakeside can get the win. Bridger will also be abig loss. I can see this meet going all the way to Heat 15.

Hopefully Graversen can see off the weaker of the two Lakeside Reserves. If Blackbird is going well he could also take one of Graversens rides. I see to recall Blackbird has guested in the main body in The Elite League.

R/R for Watt, with Lawson, Karlson, Barker and Bech taking the rides, does this weaken them at all ?

So in total 5 riders missing from the starting line up tonight. Surely best to re-arrange or does that only happen when poole are involved Haha ;)

Why are Lewis, Porsing and Bjerre missing when Hans, Harris and Milik all riding for their EL and in the qualifiers?

Cook is also at Edinburgh tonight showing his commitment to the team that pays his wages then flying out early tomorrow to get to the practice in Gorican early afternoon...

Although including 3 accomplished guest, I believe, the Stars traveling to Lakeside, still weakens our side. But in saying that, Lakeside have now lost their 2 top riders and I feel their lost is a far bigger than ours.

Read come comical tweets directed to Smolinski for the Watts accident. Apparently, a bad crash that was avoidable. Sorry to hear of Davey injuries and hope he makes a speedy recovery. Always thought we would've won this match anyway, but I feel now, with the makeshift teams, the task has become easier......

Maybe as Cook as no overseas Teams he needs the money. More a case of economics than Commitment ?

No doubt he is on a decent wedge at Edinburgh so he'd be daft to turn down 14 or 15 straightforward points tonight. I don't personally blame any rider if they want to fly out the day before, this is GP qualifying after all.

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the Updates site? If so, could you please send me a private message including your mobile number.

Thanks

I think practice is in the afternoon so No big deal flying over in the morning.

Guess Harris and Andersen would be needing the money too then??!!!! Think it's a case of if you want to ride for your club (Poles excepted) then you can do... Unfortunately, commitment to clubs is slowly dying away these days in favour of chasing personal glory... I'm pleased some still know where their roots are.

Edinburgh to Heathrow for a 6 am flight!! Nice!!

Davey is released from hospital and is travelling to Torun for more specialist advice!!

The 2 specialists so far have said no operation required but one says out for 6 weeks; the other out for 2 weeks, so understandably he wants another opinion.

Oh and btw Davey has just been sacked by his Swedish club!! Disgusting behaviour!!

Travelling, practicing and competing all in one day must be fairly demanding, can't blame riders who want to travel today, get a good kip and concentrate on the task in hand tomorrow. Fair play to those riding for their clubs this evening but we shouldn't chastise those putting their world championship hopes first IMO.
