Scunthorpe Scorpions Vs Ipswich Witches (pl) - Friday, 20th June (7.30pm)

Recommended Posts

Ipswich seem scared of a grippy track early door and simply didn't want to no,they were awfull, and Scunny Took advantage

After heat 8 or 9 is was pretty much game over

Did the ref make a howler in ht 14? Williamson seemed to have Manzares beat until Manzeres ran into back of him??

Then walking around to pick a fight to which Williamson is off the bike and ready..then seems to back down and no more flighty!,

Great entertainment boys

Good to see Williamson having a good meeting too

It's strange that you mention about a grippy track and Ipswich not liking it. The other week Ipswich prepared a really grippy track and we loved it and Somerset didn't, and Somerset often prepare their own track grippy and opposing teams don't like it. It must be that teams only like their own track grippy but not away tracks. When the scorpions were at our place this season, they were pretty useless on our track to.

A grippy track will differ from week to week & at different venues. The moisture level & make up of shale/clay mix, the weather being sunny or windy drying it out will make a difference. I, also, expected a tight meeting but all 7 Scorpions rode to a high level throughout.

The match report on our main site has Williamson saying that he took his line & why he was excluded. Obviously, we all see things differently as earlier this season, i was at Sheffield where TJ came out of bend 2, seeming to hamper J Bates who, in turn, on the following lap ran into TJ at turn 1. The ref excluded Bates.

A great meeting spoilt by some very dodgy reffing to say the least. Having read the match report what the Ref seems to be saying that a rider in the lead can not defend this position in the race from riders behind him. But instead just wave them through.

Scunny started to look really good.

Ipswich are a good PL side, but yesterday they were made to look very ordinary.

TJ and JA are now, well and truly, back on the gas.

And Matt Williamson is really stating to look the part as well. Only a strange refereeing decision in Heat 14 stopped him scoring paid seven. But he'd already done his job.

All the best

Rob
