Recommended Posts

Dissapointed Jason Garrity hasnt been picked .he is very raw but he is not afraid to mix it

He can mix it alright ask Lewis Rose after Garrity decked him twice last night it would be an interesting race between Garrity and Niki Pedersen it would be a matter who decked who first

when the equipment is top notch speedway is a head game .if garrity frightens riders he has an advantage ,he is in their head. .he has a few rough edges but is still on his way up .he is a racer and surely thats what we need in the team

I hope Lambert has been omitted due to issues with his German licence rather than being overlooked. Also think Lewis Blackbird can count himself unlucky to not be included.

Licence issues?? I've obviously missed something here, what's that all about?

You ride for the county who issued your passport. Licenses have nothing to do with it. TBF, he didn't exactly shine in the U21 World Cup did he?

Grigorij Laguta is injured but neither he or his brother would have been approved for a UK visa anyway for KL semi.final.

Why is that?

I'm sure I read at some point in the past that Daddy Laguta was a wanted man and as such it puts a black mark against the whole family.

To be fair to Lambert, since he's been back from the U21's he's upped his game. Gating has improved to so that may have given him the kick required.

Disappointed with Garrity and Lambert missing but I suppose they both have lots of time on their side. Team should be Tai, Harris, Cook and for the last place im not too fussed although it seems Barker has rode well recently. Id look at bringing Bridger in for tbe race off as he has Polish experience and has equipment already over there.

He doesn't ride at the top level and last time he was an embarrassment, especially when he parked his bike upright in the fence.

I know that but I wonder if Rosco et al are reluctant to pick him unless he fully commits to GB. On Lynn form alone over the last few weeks he really ought to be in the squad, would have he and Blackbird in place of Stead & Bridger.

I hope some way can be found to have Lambert, Garrity and Blackbird in the pits at least for the Lynn round.Sign them in as mechanics, gofers, prog filler inners anything but get them in there to learn what the atmosphere is like, experience some of the pressure and observe how some of the top riders cope etc.

Can't do them any harm at all.

Tai Woffinden (Wolverhampton)

Chris Harris (Coventry)

Danny King (Birmingham/Newcastle)

Craig Cook (Belle Vue/Edinburgh)

Simon Stead (Leicester/Sheffield)

Richie Worrall (Belle Vue/Ipswich)

Richard Lawson (Lakeside/Redcar)

Ben Barker (Birmingham/Plymouth)

Lewis Bridger (Lakeside)

Lewis Kerr (Kings Lynn/Newcastle)

Agree with most although would maybe have had Garrity or Blackbird instead of Kerr and Lawson.

Also bit surprised no Robert Lambert

what criteria did rosco select these riders? who on his behalf has he had witness these performances? cos im highly surprised at at least a couple of these riders? apart from looking on the results page, how can he justify those picks?

Which ones are you not keen on?

Why not have these guys in the squad.Only 4 ride in round 1 and we can pick a squad of ten ! Most teams will pick some riders in the squad who are there for experience, we have riders in the squad who have little chance of riding and who do not need the experience ! With 10 names to choose surely there is room for Lambert,Garrity and Blackbird, our pool of talent is not that strong

Pleased for Simon Stead, really tough on him last season with his leg and ankle break. Done well this season seeing as though he missed 75% of last year. He's unbelievably good round Sheffield, a circuit which is big and fast, hence his inclusion I would say. Lynn and Poland both quick big tracks.

Oh come on people, Garrity, Blackbird, Lambert, Kerr, Lawson etc... This is World Team Cup, I really hope they make it one day but get real, they are miles away at this level. Draft riders and PL at best - you can not be serious!!!

That's not the point. People aren't saying they should be in the four/five (except maybe lambert for the kl meeting). They are saying there are 3 or 4 slots in a ten msn ssquad for riders who are clearly not going to get a race, so why not give those spots to riders of the future rather than riders who are not, and arguably never will be, international clsss.

I think Rossiter has missed a trick same old same old, Worrall has been pretty average in both leagues,Barker,Bridger,King,Stead are they much better than Blackbird,Lambert,Lawson.? The latter three i would of picked but to be honest i am very disappointed with this squad has he a long term vision or is he content with short term results.

Yes only 4 can ride but supposing for instance between now and then, Woffy, Harris, Cook and King were injured. You are then down to the next 4 in the squad whoever you think they are. OK so we probably wouldn't get thro in that case but the same could happen to other teams as well so at least give us a fighting chance.

I don't for one second think that Lambert, Garrity and Blackbird are anywhere near ready this season, my point was simply give them some experience with no risk and no pressure.
