mikebv
it help's prevent sun-burning the back of your neck,,, must admit when I saw that I had received notification that someone had 'quoted' me I was hoping it had read.... 'they wear them back to front because if they wore them 'peak first' their caps would get blown off'..... still, if they don't get down the thread this far before replying, it may still happen.. george.m
That rule seems to be ignored these days at certain tracks. Edinburgh's parade involves riders doing a pre-meeting lap, and they don't wear helmets which I've regularly thought was against the rules. At Glasgow they throw the bike into the bends and do practice starts . One time Andrew Tully's throttle jammed on a parade lap and he clattered into the fence at speed . Helmets defo necessary when it's like that

Ned Kelly 41
Does nobody actually read the rule-book before posting on here about vague memories? 14.2.1 Specifically the Clerk of Course must: * instruct all Officials/Staff in their tasks ensuring they have appropriate information, documentation, knowledge and equipment enabling them to undertake their duties expeditiously and properly, with particular attention to these Regulations and the H&SAW Act. * ensure the track is clear before any Parade is held, instructing Riders not to make any practice starts if Riders are without Helmets. racers and royals
Does nobody actually read the rule-book before posting on here about vague memories? 14.2.1 Specifically the Clerk of Course must: * instruct all Officials/Staff in their tasks ensuring they have appropriate information, documentation, knowledge and equipment enabling them to undertake their duties expeditiously and properly, including how to use Equipment (e.g. Fire Extinguishers) with particular attention to these Regulations and the H&SAW Act. * ensure the track is clear before any Parade is held, instructing Riders not to make any practice starts if Riders are without Helmets. They obviously don`t and neither do they read the thread-as post 20 quotes the relevant part of the rule.
