PHILIPRISING
HAVE already explained this ... British Eurosport's masters in Paris (Eurosport) insisted that sponsored equestrian and Le Mans events were screened throughout their network. On this occasion British Eurosport were not allowed to do their own thing despite their protestations. However, a compromise was found when their new owners (Discovery channel) made available the Quest channel. Normal British Eurosport service will resume in Copenhagen next week.
screm
Just read that heaven forbid sky will oudbid eurosport for the SGP rights when there up for grabs. What a shame that would be a eurosport do a first class professional job & the thought of keith bloody heuwen & gary mumbling havelock in the drab studio fills me with dred. As my wife says & i always agree " scott suave nicholls or keith wig heuwen " sums it up really. EuroSports coverage of SGP must`ve left Sky kicking themselves, but as others have said as long as SGP is broadcast live somewhere then I`m happy. jonathan green 10x better Thankfully Green has disappeared from our screens, something that I am quite happy about. Triple.H.
Sky must be kicking themselves for dropping it last year and have probably got one boot on again this season. They've ploughed so much money into PL football the way its going they'll have 3hrs buildup and post match analysis for everygame.
clambo71
You are another that has been " brainwashed ".Lets have a look at Eurosport`s record this season-Swedish League, contract certainly here and Poland-all live apart from one week not shown until the following night at about 11pm and then the week all matches were rained off-they weren`t scheduled to show it until Sunday-that`s really looking after the Speedway fans !!!!! "they w out of their way to provide live coverage of the GP"-really they stuck 2 fingers up to the UK speedway fans by programming it on Sunday morning.BSI are hardly going to criticise them publicly and Quest bought a full page ad in the speedway Star-so no criticism from that source either. Sorry but I don`t buy this love-in with Eurosport-Their track record upto now hardly inspires me for the future. I can assure you I am not brainwashed my choice is God knows how much for sky subscription or £2.99 a month for eurosport who cover most of the sports that I like. If your only talking speedway then eurosport show far more than sky . Eurosport offer better value for money.
OveFundinFan
I never subscribed to Sky Sport so don't know what the quality of coverage was like. What i do know is that I am enjoying it on Eurosport, the GP's, the Swedish League, best pairs, team championship, whatever they want to put on. Missed speedway so much over the last 30 years or so, and now Moto GP has gone over to BT Sport, another I wont subscribe to, I am very pleased I get to see it and regularly. Good stuff.
Falcon Hammer
I love the SGP on Eurosport, agree Andy & Scott are a great combo. Think it's important that Speedway is shown on non-subscription channels. I got back into the sport after watching SGP highlights on (I think) ITV in the 00's. Loving watching the SGP on the box, but nothing compares to LIVE speedway

IMO IMG should be looking to get an hour long highlights programme on Eurosports European channels and maybe Quest in British Eurosport areas.
Star Lady
Maybe in the interests of fairness Racers and Royals should ask Sky why they are not showing a plum EL match tonight, the height of summer when the weather should be good. I'm talking Wolves vs league leaders King's Lynn on a track that usually produces good racing. On an evening when they are no showing any other live sport. I believe there is also a week in July when they are now showing speedway when the weather should also be good. It's all very well knocking Eurosport but let's be fair they sorted the problem. Let's see if R & R can come up with an excuse for the above omission. Yes I realise this is sort of in the wrong section but my point carries over from the above thread.

I'm not sure the Sky commentators are available for this evening?? They'll be at home watching the half hour love fest of 'Woffy, Woffy, Woffy'!! I mean 'our World Champion'. As I never mentioned SKY`s coverage-especially their contract for showing British speedway-maybe you should ask them. My whole point was Eurosport "jocking off" live coverage of Sweden and a GP. However as you are so concerned about seeing this match,as against watching what should be an interesting documentary on Tai, I have arranged for bet 365 to show it -Happy
Star Lady
As I never mentioned SKY`s coverage-especially their contract for showing British speedway-maybe you should ask them. No chance, they don't reply to my emails with the efficiency of Eurosport My whole point was Eurosport "jocking off" live coverage of Sweden and a GP. My apologies. I thought given you multiple postings re Eurosport, this omission from Sky might have been something you would have been interested in. . However as you are so concerned about seeing this match,as against watching what should be an interesting documentary on Tai, I have arranged for bet 365 to show it Along with the vast majority of fans I have the facility to record and watch at my leisure. I find it slightly odd that Sky choose to show this when Tai's British fans will be watching him live. -Happy Perfectly thank you. I shall be watching on bet 365 and listening to the commentary on BBCwm, which I find to be far superior to Sky (no shouting) and Eurosport (bumbling)

Bruiser McHuge
For profile and the chance of more casual UK sports fans seeing the coverage then it has to be Sky all day long....seeing that the commentators and the picture feed is identical then it really makes no odds coverage wise...and Sky had Scott Nicholls as a pundit a lot anyway...he's not that good anyway in my opinion Eurosport is still a niche channel in many ways...More people will be aware of the sport if it was on sky Edited June 23, 2014 by Bruiser McHuge
