blueherb777
What the updates says is: 'Crowd pretty poor currently, maybe 500 there' Is 500 a 'poor' crowd? Higher than the huge majority of NL tracks I'd imagine? True, but a lot less than last season.

Higher than the huge majority of NL tracks I'd imagine? True, but a lot less than last season. All things new usually start at a hig level. Then they even out. They lose the visitors from other tracks hwo like to attend at first meeting/season at a new track. Then the locals start to stabilise as it rationalises between those who like speedway and thos who do not. If Kent Kings can maintain a basic 500 and develop upwards with some good results and a colourful team I don't think they have anthing to worry about. waco
The Whistle gang,,, with reference to your remarks about track rakers,,Half of the yellow jacket brigade are first aiders and not required to do raking so you may be refering to them,,,i myself am on the first bend and after heat 4 rake virtually every race as is the case with other flag marshalls it is hard work and we have limited time between most races so obviously can not cover the whole bend each time.... Hope this explains things...

The problem from my viewpoint is how little raking gets done on the fourth bend. That's fine if it doesn't need it, but if that means there's spare resource it should be channelled to where the known problems are. Are there fewer rakers this year, and what are the perks, just out of interest?
Roger MARTIN
Spot on with that observation. I noticed the riders going for different lines and the surface held up right until the last couple of heats (by which time we'd dispensed with the grading). Incidentally, there's one or two of the 'rake-graders' not making much of an effort. Several people in the crowd were talking about it. Couldn't agree more. The quality of the racing definitely belied the score. Shanes is such a big prospect. Wonder how long he'll be prepared to kick his heels down at Plymouth? Don't want to make your chips all soggy! I'll just say that, certainly in the last few matches, "no progress" has looked more like regression. He will come to see this as doing him a favour in the long run, I think. It will enable him to focus on his development again. I thought Ben Morley looked like the #1 race jacket was a little heavier than he expected. Well pleased with Aaron Baseby and Luke Chessell, who both looked hungry for it. If David Mason was able to show that home form on away tracks, with Benji Compton back in the team, we'd give anyone a run for their money. Simon Lambert looked more at home on both track and bike than he has at home all season. Danny Ayres is such a big hit with the crowd right now. Thought he was forcing it too much on Monday though. Maybe less is more. Spot on with that observation. Why would James Shanes want to leave Plymouth, he has already had a run out in the Plymouth PL side, what makes you say he is kicking his heels, when you haven't got a clue whats going on with him at Plymouth, he has both Seemond Stephens and Mark Simmons helping him. Hope you like MY selective editing, lol. Not selective editing at all. I denyt the charge and not happy to see this sort of accusation. I am a Mod elsewhere and know the importance NOT to do that sort of thing. I claim that I misunderstood the Post and thought the reference was in regard to the number of spectators and not in regard to how many rakers were there. Confusion on my part obviously. May b time to call it a day in regard to commenting on Kent Kings happenings?
