Did the reporter arrive late and miss the first 2 heats?

It doesn't look that way as the report says "Ovations were besides that all coming the way of the home riders, with all seven CTA Fire Kings recording at least one paid win: Aaron Baseby winning heat one "

Well considering that gobbledegook sentence, and the fact that he missed 2 heats somewhere, we can only assume he was in the bar!

The first two heats are mentioned!

I have read the report and regard it as being comprehensive. You seem to have changed tack on what was wrong?

Well I won't be making the trip down the A2 from work to see what had the makings of a great Monday night out last year. With a crap track thats just not improved, presentation that's decidly iffy (non exsistant) I'll stay at home and watch the British Final on tele and save my coppers. Sorry Kent but until improvements are made I think you've seen the last of me this season.

I don't know when you last attended but when I went on the last Bank holiday I thought the track improved and the presentation fine. I wish I could make it from my workplace for 6.30pm.

Looking forward to when the start time goes back an hour!

Very much business as usual. Result is up on both the Kent Kings website and one Facebook group. No complaints there. I am certain the report will appear by the morning.

And what a resounding scoreline it was in Kings favour?

It does make understand why Kings are not interested n the BSF. They are on Facebook and Twitter, also appear with some ftequency on the official BSPA site and its links, and another Facebook forum also carries publicity for them. And all avoid the aggro and troll-mentality that exists - rather sadly - on the BSF.

Yes gustix but remember the old saying, bad publicity is better than NO publicity, and its surely better to discuss than to agree with the party line..

Bit of a stroll in the park for the Kings facing a side weakened by retirements from the sport by their two strongest riders ,,Plymouth need to strengthen up but can they,? are the riders available to do it ? its dougbtfull ? Kings cantered home to a 64-28,victory ,despite some spirited performances from Brendon Johnson and in particular James Shanes ,who when he learns to gate could become a very good rider as he really goes into the corners with plenty of motor on ,i was impressed, ,,, Good nights for Simon Lambert 15 point max David Mason paid 15 point max,,Ben Morley locked up on the first bend in his first ride but was solid after that,, though i have seen him sharper round here 9+1.. ..Arron Basby and Luke Chessel both had good nights ,9+1 and 9 +2 respectively ..Danny Ayers and Luke Harris continue to make progress and had their moments tonight 5 and 4+2 respectively Not to much should be read into this result as only Scunthorpe are likely to provide weaker opposition ,Next week will be a totally different scenario when the kings Lynn outfit hit town...

Next week is Stoke (KOC). KL the week after (NL)

Not at all. You just don't seem to have the answer to the question of what happened to the missing 2 heats if the home side produced "12 out of the 13 heat winners"

The best I could suggest was that if the author thought "Ovations were besides that all coming the way of the home riders" is a coherent English sentence then maybe he'd been in the bar

It is indeed Stoke next week and i have corrected my post,They will be a real test ..... Falcon yes ,Simon looked fast and steady on the bike and is showing a resurgence of the form he is capable of since leaving Rye,, i also heard he had changed his engine tuner but dont quote me on that and the track is becoming smoother every week as it is now starting to bind together with the base....I would however take issue with the match report of a large crowd attending ,i would say it was well down on numbers ...

Chessell was awful last time against Stoke and we had no Ayres for that meeting. Hopefully Benji will be back and we can take a decent lead to their place.

I did not go but updates said it was a poor crowd.

I swear the match report would say it was a `large crowd` if one man and his dog was there alone.

Despite the score, there was some decent racing last night. The heat 14 battle between James Shanes and Luke chessell was one of the best races I've seen at Central Park since the venue opened. The track has also improved with no exsposed chalk base and a decent dirt line around the outside, which the excellent Shanes exploited to the full.

That's rather harsh on the match reporter!

I see your point. It should be Kings had 14 of the 15 heat winners: I think the reporter's error was unintentional - the reporter has been to a speedway meeting before!

Also in regard to the sentence about ovations which you keep taking out of context: If you read it in conjunction with the sentence that precedes it you will find it makes perfect sense.

To be fair to Chessel, Whistle gang he had a good meeting monday close to a paid max..However consistancy remains a problem with him ...when Benji is back and i repeat when!! he is still heavily strapped on his wrist and fore arm,, If we can not fit him in by losing a reserve i imagine it might be Chessel who goes, as Aarron Basby is looking the more consistent of the two,,But then im not the manager so its any ones guess what might happen ....

Spot on with that observation. I noticed the riders going for different lines and the surface held up right until the last couple of heats (by which time we'd dispensed with the grading). Incidentally, there's one or two of the 'rake-graders' not making much of an effort. Several people in the crowd were talking about it.

Couldn't agree more. The quality of the racing definitely belied the score. Shanes is such a big prospect. Wonder how long he'll be prepared to kick his heels down at Plymouth?

Some big news on the Kent Kings website - the official source for club information.

Don't want to make your chips all soggy! I'll just say that, certainly in the last few matches, "no progress" has looked more like regression. He will come to see this as doing him a favour in the long run, I think. It will enable him to focus on his development again.

I thought Ben Morley looked like the #1 race jacket was a little heavier than he expected. Well pleased with Aaron Baseby and Luke Chessell, who both looked hungry for it. If David Mason was able to show that home form on away tracks, with Benji Compton back in the team, we'd give anyone a run for their money. Simon Lambert looked more at home on both track and bike than he has at home all season. Danny Ayres is such a big hit with the crowd right now. Thought he was forcing it too much on Monday though. Maybe less is more.
