foreverblue
Keep him fresh? What a load of utter cods wallop. Even Shovlar would be proud of that one. Newman may have scored his points against reserves, but Hopwood couldn't even achieve that accolade. By the end of his races, he was a good 80-100 yards adrift. Hopwood had trouble negotiating the second bend and going as slowly as he was, he looked woeful but that doesnt mean it was the wrong decision

I thought so looking at the updates and it seems others there thought it too.

SCB
So Newman is capable of beating mjj and hansen after one reserves race win! There are 5 or 6 riders in the GP this year who stand little chance of winning a GP but they still turn up. What if MJJs bike went on the last bend and slowed enough for a rider who was on the pace to nick a point while Hoopwood was still trundling down the back straight? Surely you always use the best rider possible?

Dornier
The result was acceptable but again dropped a point which isn`t really championship winning form. Bees will need to have more impressive wins before I`m thinking they`re going to be champions. Lets hope for a win of any kind at Swindon .
SteveLyric2
Didn't think he was playing with Harris and think if Ward hadn't been allowed to get away with a flyer then Harris may have won heat 11 as Ward only just beat him on the line Agree that we need to stop dropping points at home (although did miss Garrity) however at the moment we have 2nd best away form in league with good wins at Swindon, Poole & Leicester and that was before we strengthened. But Ward can't gate!! Every non-Poole fan knows that!!!
New Science
A very very poor meeting in terms of entertainment - let down again by inept track preparation ! 2 passes all night I reckon -one being the Hansen mistake and being passed by Milik, the other of wind by the old chap sitting close to us in stands ! Weather this week has been fine (and forecast as such so no surprises !). There is not a stock car meeting on Saturday and the excuse this time is.......? Despite winning 10 of the 15 heats, there was no point during the meeting where they threatened the Bees - the score line suggests otherwise. Hurts me to say, but Darcy Ward is a class act and rode superbly. Happy days Reading your post on last night I'm thinking Mick Horton must have the golden touch. Anyone who can get a good crowd to watch speedway on a predictably poor track with teams tracking 5 guests between them must have something !

markyb
Reading your post on last night I'm thinking Mick Horton must have the golden touch. Anyone who can get a good crowd to watch speedway on a predictably poor track with teams tracking 5 guests between them must have something ! Yeah, but I ain't being mugged off again for a while. Last Friday against Belle Vue made me think speedway (I mean the sport here and not the fact that bees had won) at Coventry had "turned a corner" how wrong I was. It ain't about winning, but the spectacle that goes with a win (or defeat). Am so jealous of the "racing" seen at so many circuits in the English leagues compared to that at an "elite" (sic) club like that on my doorstep. Age profile of the support last night must have averaged 55+, despite me taking my 8 year old daughter. No chance based on last night that the sport (in Coventry at least) is going to survive once those hardy souls have departed this earth - this despite the fantastic efforts of the Simpson brothers - who made a dull night last night at little better ! In the meantime, Happy days !

Brummie Kev
Horton mentioned there should be a meeting next Friday 27th. Just waiting to find out if against Eastbourne or Birmingham Hopefully it wont be the Brummies as we would likely be without King, Barker and Starke and maybe Nermark with his broken finger. Would be crazy if we agreed to it.

dorset delight
Should have collected all 3 points last night seeming Poole's guests hardly scored much, would have been in trouble if Pawlicki and Magic were riding. Your right there Bee26,before the meeting i would have taken a point all day long and considering our guests only scored 3 between them,a well earned point.I think we all know the outcome if Pav and Magic were riding.Still there is always the B fixtures.Anyway well done on your win as you can only beat what's put in front of you.
Bagpuss
Stick Garrity in there along with Shamek & Magic and it would have been bloody close.
foreverblue
Without the Nermark injury it could have been a poole win as I believe he rode very well last time at brandon and he is in form. mdmc82
That's a home and away win against Poole so far. One home win to Poole. Looking forward to the final fixture between these 2 teams and hopefully Garrity & Magic wont be missing

Woz01
Janowski has been shocking at Brandon in the past, I hope he does ride in the B fixture. Probably prove me wrong!
