Newcastle V Somerset Pl Sunday 15th June 2014 At 6.30pm

Recommended Posts

Is it just me or does the PL seem short of fixtures this year? Only 6 matches throughout the whole of June and only 5 currently scheduled for July for the Diamonds. For the riders who aren't doubling up or riding abroad that is a paucity of matches. Must be a real struggle to make any money.

Needs looking at in the Winter.

If anyone fancies a browse through Newcastle's speedway history. American Eddie Ingels was only with us in 1984 the season that it all went wrong for Newcastle Promoter Ian Thomas, is on my website www.newcastlespeedwayhistory.co.uk Why not have a browse and email me if you have anything in your collection that would improve the website

Your not alone, Comets only had four matches scheduled for June, the first one was tonight so chopped off at the knees for starters, a LC semi on Tues then home games 21st and 28th, got 7 next month tho!! :D

Might have something to do with a certain footy competition being held in Brazil?

You have a "small" point for this year Steve, ;) but this happens a lot to us, very thin schedule for the first 3 months then everything for the last 3, no wonder we never win owt, always go better fresh!! :D

If the World Cup was an issue I would have expected more fixtures in early June before it started and more after it finishes. According to the fixture list, if we don't make the play-offs our season will be over by the end of August.

Or alternatively why bother at all. Let's just not have a season when there is a World Cup or European Championship on. Rubbish.

It's not very often a teams heat leaders fail to beat an opponent. If Newcastle get a 5-1 here in heat 13 thats exactly what has happened.

edit > Can't even be rubbish properly! Nick Morris has beat an opponent.

First of all, hope all of the Injured riders wont be out for too long after there crashes tonight. Kerr's in particular looking a bad one. Get well soon to all of Them.

Secondly, the track was awful, In particular bend 2 and finally a rider gets hurt because of the state of that bend, but no doubt we will get told it was 'a rider error'. Absolute nonsense.

Overall, diamonds rode well with Mills in particular impressing as did Wright for the Rebels who imo was worth the admission money alone and was always in the thick of it.

well done milsy. great effort.

Yeah, he was a revelation. Tell me again why your lot dumped him? Clearly, as with Schrambo , a change of scenery has worked wonders. We may win a prize for having the oldest reserve pairing, but hey, if it works!
