Daniel Smith
Indeed he has... Phil Morris speedway @philmorrisgb[/size] · 1h How did cov let @DannyKingRacing guest for @the_cookstar surprised no one picked up he was not allowed 17.6. Who was the ref? 17.6 = If a Replacement PL Rider also has a current EL MA then the higher of the MA’s will dictate the eligibility Both riders PL averages are higher than their EL averages but Danny King's PL average is higher than Craig Cook's. That makes Danny King's guest appearance against the rules Danny King - EL 6.73 - PL 11.18 Craig Cook - EL 7.32 - PL 10.70 Cant help but think....what the feks it got to do with him!!!...member of the GB crew and grassing a Brit up!!!...pathetic!!! Why's it pathetic? Belle Vue have broken the rules and he's questioning the quality of the referee to allow the guest appearance to continue. So you agree that bending the rules should be swept under the carpet then? Shouldn't matter a jot if the rider is a Brit or an Alien

Brandon
Not a bad meeting though passing was at a minimal. Heat thirteen lap one was outstanding by the bees pair and Scott, not often you see Hans keep the throttle on in a tight squeeze! The new Danish JJ got better as the meeting went o and showed maturity in guiding Harris to their 5-1. Certainly looks a good move to bring him in. Track still had ruts in turns 2 & 4 that caught the riders out, not sure how this will be resolved with stock cars racing so often. Talking of stock cars, how disappointing the meeting again came to an abrupt end so the track could be prepared for tomorrow night. Worst still was the young lads who went out for their first race only to be called back! Why they couldn't have ran that race (90 secs) I don't know. Demoralising for the youngsters having waited all night. Good win, onwards and upwards.
mdmc82
Wow! King must be awesome to be outscoring cook in the pl! Only watched to heat 9. Why was blue not excluded when his front wheel touched the tapes? I reckon garrity had tipped him off about green light 2 3 go after he got away with jumping the start in his first two rides. Track looked okay but little passing unless riders cocked up so watched the footy instead which was a good call :-) it was his helmet not front wheel that touched the tapes
Daniel Smith
King aint got a PL average!!!...its a converted EL one...so classed as assessed...need to use his real EL average!!Irrelevant. The rule state's the highest MA is to be taken. No mention as to whether it's a converted MA or not. Danny King's PL MA is higher than Craig Cook's - illegal+ guests for Craig Cook can only be PL rider's or DU's so King's PL average has to be considered. If not, Danny King's appearance is still illegal which ever way you'd like to dress it up Edited June 13, 2014 by screamer

mdmc82
No his front wheel first as plain as day I was sat opposite the starting line and thats not what I saw, thats why he was allowed back in as the tapes didn't go down properly and got caught in his helmet

stevebrum
Bit of a difference in averages don't you think MJJ 6.5 and Kildemand 8. 9+1 is over achieving from a 6.5 rider so it was a good home debut for MJJ in my opinion. It was meant as a tongue in cheek comment aimed at the multi poster who thinks he is World class.
mdmc82
One of the best team spirits we have had. Also great to see how much riding for the bees means to the riders we have.
IainB
It says a lot about the quality of racing these days that this thread is mostly about rulebook technicalities and helmets touching tapes, yes there was 1 marginally good race but this was over after a lap really. The sport ain't what it used to be! On a positive note, good to see Nicholls looking the most competitive he has done in years, must have bought a rocket for the British Final!
Rob Lee
Haven't been to Brandon for a while, but enjoyed this match. They've even brought back the Flight of the Bumblebee and the marching music for the entrance of the track staff! Track looked good, great to see Pratty back. Good win for the Bees, showed great character to nail the match in heats 11, 12 and 13 after BV snuck up on them thanks to the ludicrous jeux sans frontieres golden double. I think Anderson's heat 13 was amongst the best first turns I've seen, rivalling the great Hans Nielsen (remember him?). However, it's a bit worrying that King and Nicholls found a great outside line, at least a second faster than the Bees top order could manage. It was weird to see Harris hugging the kerb in second place while the opposition rode out near the fence and left him behind. They'll need to get their set-ups sorted and re-learn that line if they want to beat the top teams (Poole next week). And what about King's rolling starts - at least three, and the ref brought him back only once. Also the start marshal could have been firmer. In heat 15, he had a half-hearted attempt at bringing King right up to the tapes, but King just ignored him, so he let it go. Some of the comments on Jensen seem a bit lukewarm, but I thought it was a superb debut - he would have scored more but for King's rolling starts.
mdmc82
Yes was surprised by how much rolling King did and jumping the starts. Even some lovely Belle Vue fans sat near us kept commenting on it. Thought MJJ had a great start. He Hasn't been to Brandon for couple of years & track changed abut since then. He won a race on debut and never got any 0s. Was up against Scott who knows our track inside out.
speedybee
Rob Lee - good points about the riding lines. I too was disappointed to see the top Bees racers riding the inside line. Hansen can probably be excused as he was riding in considerable pain and didn't look comfortable all night, but let's hope we see Harris and Jensen perfecting the wide line in the coming weeks as King and Nichols were last night. ouch
It's never good racing when The Aces are in town. We can't gate and clubs know this. Nowadays it's more about getting the win than an entertaining 60 seconds, shame. King was the best choice of guest from the option we were given. He must be ok as I can't see the authorities sailing us down the river.
mdmc82
Coventry have said they didn't see a problem with King guesting. They are happy with that still so can't see any action being taken by them. Then again it wasn't anybody at cov commenting on it
The Voice Of Reason
Another very enjoyable night. Presentation has greatly improved over the past few weeks. However, the track is, if I'm brutally honest, still a bit 'gate and go' as I said the other week after the Wolverhampton Meeting. Anyone trying the outside line on the fourth bend looks particularly uncomfortable - shame as it's clearly got a very fast racing line out there somewhere to propel you along the home straight. Still can't make our why your track flaggers don't rake some material back in between races?
Gemini
Still can't make our why your track flaggers don't rake some material back in between races? They would want extra biscuits and two cups of tea in the interval if they had to take on double duties. Seriously though how many tracks these days have rakers? I seem to recall from last season that Peterborough do so that's one.
Panthers89
We still have 'rakers' off top of my head, its around 5-6 people that do it.
